March 2015. Provisional data
In March, the number of property transfers registered is 143,761
properties, that is, 3.8% more than in the same month of 2014
The merchanting of registered dwellings increases by 2.1%, as
compared to March of the previous year
The number of property transfers recorded in the land registries (from public deeds
previously registered) was 143,761 in March, that is, 3.8% more than in the same month of
2014.
Regarding the merchanting of registered properties, the number of transfers was 61,334,
with a 4.2% annual increase.

Merchanting recorded in the land registries
81.0% of the registered merchanting in March corresponded to urban properties and 19.0%
to rustic properties. Among the urban properties, 54.9% were merchanting of dwellings.
In March, the number of merchanting of rustic properties increased by 10.1% in the annual
rate, and that of urban properties did so by 2.9%. Within the latter, merchanting of dwellings
recorded an annual variation of 2.1%.

Evolution of the monthly rate
In order to contribute to the analysis and interpretation of the data, the following chart shows
the variation in the number of merchanting of dwellings between the months of February and
March of the last five years. In 2015, the monthly rate was –8.2%, indicating a 12.1 point
increase as compared to the previous year.

Registered merchanting on dwellings, by protection system and status
89.7% of transfers of dwellings by merchanting in March were free housing, and 10.3% were
protected housing.
In annual terms, the number of transfers of free dwellings by merchanting increased by 1.4%,
and that of protected dwellings did so by 8.0%.
24.2% of the dwellings transferred by merchanting in March were new, and 75.8% were
used.
The number of transactions on new dwellings decreased by 40.9% as compared to March
2014. In turn, the number of used dwellings increased by 32.8%.

Results by Autonomous Community
In March 2015, the total number of property transfers recorded in the land registries per
100,000 inhabitants2 reached its highest value in the Autonomous Community of La Rioja
(678), Castilla y León (671) and Castilla-La Mancha (640).
Comunidad Foral de Navarra (9.9%), Castilla-La Mancha (9.7%) and Galicia (8.8%)
registered the greatest annual variations.
In turn, the Autonomous Communites that registered the lowest annual rates were
Extremadura (–9.4%), Región de Murcia (–4.4%) and Cantabria (–2.5%).

highest number of transfers per 100,000 inhabitants2 was Comunitat Valenciana (98).

The Autonomous Communities showing the greatest annual variation rates in the
merchanting of dwellings in March were Principado de Asturias (39.0%), Galicia (18.3%),
and Castilla y León (13.6%).
In turn, Illes Balears (–21.0%), La Rioja (–20.0%) and Extremadura (–18.8%) registered
the m ost negative annual rates.
