Habit of Mind: Listening with understanding and empathy
Dear parents and guardians:
Thanks for the great support shown throughout the first meetings and the time taken to meet the
teachers and the academic staff. Your child´s teacher will be a significant person in their life this
year; therefore, it is a good idea to build a strong bond. That way we can work together, share
information and head off challenges. Let your child know your respect for the teachers. Your
attitude will affect your child´s behavior in class.
We hope you encourage your children and teens to participate in the activities of the After School
Program. An additional Newsletter will be sent with this information.(Swimming, Soccer,
Volleyball, Cheerleading, Art Club, Chorus, CIS-UNM Club, Reading Club, tutorial classes in English
and Spanish).
The Language Enhancement program for 1st to 5th grade will start after Sept. 20th, from 1:45 to
2:30; selected students will receive a special notification.
We hope you as parents support the school policies, about the dressing code you must follow.
While you are in our campus it is against to our policies to wear:
 Clothes that let uncovered the shoulders, transparent outfits or as fishing net,
Gym clothes, tight clothes, Pajamas or other sleepwear, Etc. Please see School Manual for
more details, page 35, we will appreciate your support in this matter.
During September students from 1st to 12th grade will elect the students council representatives,
let´s support our children leadership during this time.
The English reading books are already available in the library; the school English text books have
had a little delay with the international supplier, but they must be arriving next week, meanwhile
classes will use complementary materials.

Habit of Mind: Escuchar con comprensión y empatía
Estimados padres y tutores:
Gracias por el apoyo mostrado durante las primeras reuniones de este año escolar y haber tomado
tiempo para conocer a los maestros y el personal académico de sus hijos (as). Los maestros son figuras
muy importantes en el desarrollo de los mismos, por lo tanto, es una buena idea construir fuertes
vínculos. De esta manera podemos trabajar juntos, compartir información y enfrentar los retos del día
a día. La actitud de los padres afecta el comportamiento del los niños en clase.
Esperamos que animen a sus niños y adolescentes a participar en las actividades del “After School
Program”. Luego será enviada otra circular con información más detallada de estas actividades.
(Natación, fútbol, voleibol, Cheerleaders, Art Club, Coro, CIS-UNM Club, Club de lectura, clases de
tutoría en Inglés y Español, etc.).
El programa de refuerzo en inglés o Language Enhacement program de l 1º a 5º grado se iniciará
después del 20 de septiembre, en horario de 01:45- 2:30 p.m. Los estudiantes seleccionados recibirán
una notificación especial al respecto.
Esperamos que ustedes como padres puedan apoyar las políticas de la escuela sobre el código de
vestimenta a seguir. Durante su estancia en el colegio no se permite usar:
• Ropa que deje al descubierto los hombros, vestimentas transparentes o como red de pescar, ropas
de gimnasio, ropas ajustadas al cuerpo, pijamas u otras ropas de dormir, etc. Pueden consultar el
manual de la escuela, para más detalles en la pag. 35, apreciaremos su apoyo en este sentido.
Durante septiembre los estudiantes de 1º a 12º grado elegirán el consejo de estudiantes y los
delegados del Comité Ambiental de Eco School, vamos a apoyar el liderazgo de nuestros alumnos
durante este tiempo.
Los libros de lectura en inglés ya están disponibles en librería. Con relación a los libros de textos inglés
que provee el colegio, les informamos que han tenido un poco de retraso en la entrega con el
proveedor internacional. Estos deberán llegar la próxima semana, mientras tanto, las clases están
utilizando materiales complementarios.
