Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are at the end of the 2015-16 school year. Congratulations on completing another step of your child’s road
to college. The number of accomplishments for students is incredible.
For seniors we want to congratulate them again and wish them the best in their academic and career
opportunities.
For our future, sophomores, juniors, and seniors we are enclosing the calendar for next year with the bell
schedule reminding everyone that school will start at 8:30 am each day. Drop your student off before 8:20 to
ensure that they arrive to class before it starts. Please see the enclosed calendar and bell schedule for specific
days and corresponding ending time.
To ensure a good start to the next year, here are a few announcements/dates to keep in mind.
1. If your child has failed classes or is missing credits, then making up credits (credit recovery) over the
summer is a student’s responsibility in order to matriculate. Enclosed is a flyer with ABHS Credit
recovery options. We have also enclosed the reference sheet that you received during spring family
meetings to help identify summer school options outside of the school.
2. To make certain that our student enrollment numbers are accurate, we will be having a mandatory
registration for sophomores, juniors and seniors in mid-July.
(Parent and Student are both required to come to register.)

• Sophomores* from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
• Juniors* from 1:00 p.m. -3:00 p.m.

*Reclassified students may register during the times for sophomores, juniors and seniors
IMPORTANT: If you do not come to registration or contact the school before your designated
registration date, then we will assume that your student will not be returning to school and your
student will be disenrolled. This will allow us to draw from the Lottery Wait List and fill empty
spaces in a timely fashion before school begins.
3. First day of classes for 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students is Thursday, July 21st.
4. Just a reminder, we will be asking each student to pay a Technology fee (cash or check) of $60
($30.00 for students receiving free and reduced lunch). This fee will be used to support school
technology (computer labs) and science labs. This fee will be due at Registration.
5. To kick off the year and welcome new staff and students, the ABHS Parent Lead Team (PLT), is
organizing a kick-off picnic on a Saturday in the fall. We will send out that information when it is
confirmed.

Estimados padres/guardianes,
Estamos al fin del año escolar de 2014-2015. Queremos felicitarles a ustedes y a su hijo al
completar otro paso del camino a la universidad para su hijo.
Para los estudiantes que acabaron de graduarse, les felicitamos otra vez y les deseamos lo mejor en
sus oportunidades en la universidad y sus carreras futuras.
Para los estudiantes de los grados nueve, diez y once, les mandamos el calendario nuevo para el año
que viene; además incluimos el nuevo horario de clases ; favor de notar que comenzamos a las
8:30 am todos los días. Queremos que vean el calendario incluido y el horario para averiguar
cuando terminan las clases cada día.
Para asegurar un buen comienzo para el próximo año, incluimos algunos anuncios y fechas.
1. Si su hijo ha fallado alguna(s) clase(s) o le hace falta(n) crédito(s), es la responsabilidad
del estudiante recuperar este crédito durante el verano para que pueda matricularse. No
hay escuela de verano en ABHS. Sin embargo, incluimos una hoja de referencia que
tiene las opciones mejores para la escuela de verano.
2. Para asegurarnos que tenemos números precisos de estudiantes, hay una matriculación
obligatoria para los del grado 10, 11 y 12 a medios de julio. (Es obligatorio que vengan
ambos padres e hijos a matricularse.)
El horario para registrarse es lo siguiente:
El jueves, el 16 de julio de 2015
• Grado 10*: 9:30 am – 11:30 am
• Grado 11*: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
El viernes, el 17 de julio de 2015
• Grado 12*: 9:30 am – 11:30 am
• Grado 9: Tomamos las fotos para las tarjetas de identificación entre 1:00- 3:00
• *Los estudiantes reclasificados (los que tienen que repetir el año)
IMPORTANTE: Si ustedes no vienen a la matriculación ni tampoco nos avisan que no pueden venir
durante su día de registrarse, vamos a tomarlo como que no piensa regresar a la escuela y le vamos
a quitar el nombre de su hijo de la lista de matriculación. Esto nos dejará que abriera un espacio
para alguien de la lista de espera de la lotería; lo haremos para llenar cualquier espacio abierto antes
de que empiece la escuela.
3. El jueves, 23 de julio es el primer día de clases para los grados 10, 11 y 12.
4. Un recuerdo de que pedimos un pago de laboratorio de $60 ($30 para los estudiantes que
reciben el almuerzo gratis o reducido). Este pago se utilizará para el laboratorio de las
computadoras y de ciencias. Se entrega el día de registrarse.
5. Al comenzar el nuevo año escolar y saludar a los nuevos maestros y estudiantes, el
grupo PLT (Parent Lead Team) les invita a un picnic en cuanto comience el ano; les
avisaremos en cuanto tengamos una fecha.

año escolar 2015-16.
