The Technology, Arts, and the Design High
School (the TAD School)
The school culture at the TAD School will be one where
all students practice the four values of the school:
Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Evidence.
This will also be a school where students will know that
they will be able to transition to the career or college of
their choice because they have learned the skills necessary
for the 21st Century. The school will provide a supportive
environment where students will know that there is at
least one or more adults that they may go to when they are
experiencing academic, personal, or social concerns.
Instruction will integrate technology and arts
through project-based learning techniques, providing
students with alternative ways to demonstrate their
understanding. This instructional focus will also address
a need in the community for technology and arts
instruction. The school will provide thematic curriculum
that focuses on culturally relevant instruction that
encourages identity awareness.
The TAD School will offer students the following
extracurricular activities:

Saturday-High - offered through Art Center College
of Design
•
Community college and university field trips
•
Various team sports and cheer leading
•
Choir and music ensemble
•
Photography and other media arts clubs
•
Student Government
•
Various student clubs - GSA! Latinas Guiding
Latinas, College Access Plan Scholars, and others

Escuela secundaria deTecnología, Artes y
Diseño (TAD)
La cultura escolar en la escuela de TAD será una donde
todos los estudiantes practicaran los cuatro valores de la
escuela: colaboración, responsabilidad, respeto y pruebas.
Esta será también una escuela donde los alumnos sabrán
que serán capaces de transición para la carrera o el
Colegio de su elección porque han aprendido las
habilidades necesarias para el siglo XXI. La escuela
ofrecerá un ambiente propicio donde los estudiantes
sabran que habrá uno o más adultos a quien pueden
acudir cuando ellos esten experimentando problemas
académicos, personales o sociales.
La instrucción integrará tecnología y las artes a través
de técnicas de aprendizaje basados en proyectos,
proporcionara a los estudiantes formas alternativas para
demostrar su comprensión. Este enfoque instruccional
también abordará una necesidad en la comunidad para la
instrucción de tecnología y las Artes. La escuela ofrecerá
estudios temáticos que se centra en la instrucción
culturalmente pertinente que alienta la conciencia de
identidad.
La escuela de TAD ofrecerá a los estudiantes las siguientes
actividades extraescolares:
