Dear Parents and Community Residents,
The summer is almost over and we are preparing our facilities to welcome our students. On
behalf of the Board of Education I want to thank you for the support you have given us in approving
the 2016-2017 school budget. I am fully aware of the challenges both academically and financially
that we face but I can assure you that the Board will always propose a responsible budget that
will preserve our programs and support services.
Our student population continues to grow and currently we are close to 19,000 students, which
makes Brentwood the largest school district on Long Island with regard to population. I should
let you know that our facilities are at capacity and we need to develop a plan to ensure that our
students are being educated in an exemplary learning environment.
We have developed a strong partnership with Southside Hospital who is committed to ensure that
our students and community remain healthy. Southside will be offering our community many free
services throughout the year. I do ask that you take advantage of these services when they are
offered. We will provide you with further information.
It is important that we hear from you regarding any concerns or questions you may have or to
recognize a teacher or staff members. With a strong partnership between students, staff, parents
and community the Brentwood School District will continue to prepare our students for college
and careers.

Estimados padres de familia y residentes de la comunidad,
El verano casi se termina y estamos preparando nuestras facilidades para darles la bienvenida
a nuestros alumnos. A nombre de la Junta de Educación quiero darle las gracias por el apoyo
que nos han dado al aprobar el presupuesto escolar para el año 2016-2017. Estoy plenamente
consciente de los retos tanto académicamente y financieramente que enfrentamos, pero puedo
asegurarles que la Junta de Educación siempre propondrá un presupuesto responsable que
preservará nuestros programas y servicios de apoyo.
La población estudiantil sigue creciendo y actualmente tenemos cerca de 19,000 estudiantes, lo
cual hace Brentwood el Distrito Escolar más grande en Long Island con respecto a la población.
Debo dejarles saber que nuestras facilidades están llenas a capacidad y tenemos que

estudiantes, personal, padres y comunidad el Distrito Escolar de Brentwood continuará
