“An Evening with Parents”
Dear Parents:
Enclosed, please find information on our upcoming “Evening with Parents” on February 21. In place of our
customary Open House, we have planned an evening designed to meet more grade- level specific parent and
student needs.
Our “Evening with Parents” will begin at 5:30PM with our 6th grade parents and students, that is, parents
whose students will be 7th grade this fall. During the first 30 minutes in the gymnasium, you will hear
performances by our music students, meet some of our staff and receive information on our IB/Middle Years’
Program detailing UNI’s final, exciting steps toward complete IB authorization. Following the gym
presentation, there will be the opportunity for students to sign-up for clubs or activities in the multi-purpose
room and take a guided campus tour.
At 6:30PM, we invite current 7th grade parents and students to arrive. If you are the parent of a UNI 7th
grader, you will first come to the gymnasium. You will also hear performances by our music students, be
presented with current information on our progress as an IB/MYP Candidate School and provided critical
school-wide information regarding overall academic progress of UNI students, available Title 1 support and
the critical role parents play in UNI achieving its school-wide goals.
Finally, if you are the parent of a UNI 8th grader, I ask that you read the enclosed flyer carefully and choose
one of the three seminars on “High School Transition” to attend. Please note, we are providing this 20 minute
seminar on “High School Transition” at three different times that evening. Because of the importance of your
student making a smooth transition to 9th grade, I ask that you plan to attend one of these three seminars. Of
course, should you want to first attend the session in the gym, you are more than welcome.
We have planned an exciting and informative “Evening with Parents” and hope all of you will plan to
attend.

“Noche para Padres”
Estimados Padres:
Adjunto, encontrara información sobre nuestra "Noche Para Padres" este 21 de Febrero. En lugar de nuestro
Open House de costumbre, hemos planeado una noche diseñada para satisfacer más necesidades a nivel de
grado específico para los padres.
Nuestra "Noche para Padres" se iniciará a las 5:30pm con los padres de 6 º grado, es decir, los padres cuyos
estudiantes serán de 7 º grado este otoño. Durante los primeros 30 minutos en el gimnasio, escuchará las
actuaciones de nuestros estudiantes de música, conocerá a nuestro personal, recibirá información detallada
sobre nuestro Programa de IB/Años Intermedios y se ofrecerá un panorama crítico para toda la escuela. Tras
la presentación gimnasio, habrá la oportunidad de inscribirse en clubs o actividades y tienen oportunidad de
dar un paseo guiado por el campus.
A las 6:30pm, invitamos a los padres de nuestros estudiantes actuales de 7º grado de UNI a presentarse. Si
usted es el padre de un alumno de UNI del 7º grado, usted vendrá primero al gimnasio. Usted también
escuchará las actuaciones de nuestros estudiantes de música, se presentará información actualizada sobre
nuestro progreso como una Escuela Candidata de IB/MYP y se ofrecerá un panorama crítico para toda la
escuela sobre Title 1 y la participación critica de padres para lograr los metas de Uni.
Finalmente, si usted es el padre de un alumno de UNI en el 8º grado, le pido que lea el folleto adjunto con
cuidado y elija una de las tres opciones previstas. Tenga en cuenta que estamos ofreciendo un curso de 20
minutos para padres sobre la "Transición a High School" a tres horarios diferentes durante esa noche. Debido a
la importancia de que su estudiante haga una transición sin problemas a 9º grado, le pido que asista a uno de
los tres cursos. Claro, si usted gusta asistir primero asistir a la sesión en el gimnasio, será bienvenido.
Hemos planeado una "Noche para Padres" informativa y espero que todos ustedes logren asistir.
