Mi nombre es Kendi, tengo once años. En esta fotografía estoy con mi familia: mi
mamá Jennifer, mi papá Alcander, Enzi mi hermano que es más chico que yo, y mi
hermano más pequeño Antonio. Como se podrán imaginar mis hermanos y yo
fuimos adoptados de diferentes países.
Mi mamá Jennifer es de Nueva Jersey en los Estados Unidos y mi papá es de la isla
griega Kasto. Ellos se conocieron mientras estudiaban la licenciatura en la
Universidad de Princeton.
Cuando se encontraban en Nigeria trabajando para la Fundación Internacional de
Niños me encontraron en una pequeña comunidad llamada Aiyedaade en Osun, al
sur de Nigeria.
Mientras ayudaban gente en Degehabur enn Ogaden, Etiopía por el conflicto
armado en ese país, conocieron a mi hermano Kendi y unos meses después
adoptaron a mi hermano Antonio en la comunidad de la Paz en Honduras.
Vivimos en Lambertville, Nueva Jersey. Mis hermanos y yo asistimos a la Escuela
Elemental de Lambertville. Mi mamá se queda en casa; ella trabaja vendiendo cosas
para la tienda en línea de una compañía farmacéutica. Papá aun viaja por el mundo
ayudando gente.
Cuando crezca quiero ser dentista para viajar con mis papás y ayudar a otras
personas también.
