In June, the number of transfers of property decreases 19.7% in the
interannual rate
Merchanting of dwellings decreases 29.6% as compared with the
same month of the previous year
During the month of June, the number of transfers of property was 184,592, that is, 19.7%
less than for the same month in 2007, and 5.4% below the figure recorded in May 2008. In
the case of merchanting of property, the number of transfers was 100,160, representing an
interannual decrease of 28.6% and of 7.2% as compared with the previous month.

88.3% of the merchantings corresponded to urban properties and 11.7% to rustic properties.
Among the urban properties, 53.7% were for dwellings.
The number of merchantings of rustic property decreased 27.6% in the interannual rate,
while that of urban property decreased 28.8%. Merchanting of dwellings decreased 29.6%.

Merchanting of dwellings by protection system and status
90.7% of transfers of dwellings by merchanting in June were free housing and 9.3% were
protected housing. The number of transfers of free dwellings by merchanting decreased
30.0% in the interannual rate, and that of protected dwellings decreased 24.9%.

number of transactions on new dwellings decreased 16.1%, while that of used dwellings
decreased 38.9% as compared with June 2007.

Geographical distribution
In June 2008, the total number of transfers of property per 100,000 inhabitants1 was highest
in the Communities of Castilla-La Mancha (911) and La Rioja (765).
The Communities showing the highest number of merchantings of property per 100,000
inhabitants1 were La Rioja (444), Castilla-La Mancha (438) and Cantabria (432).
By merchanting of dwellings, the Communities in which the number of transfers per 100,000
inhabitants 1 was highest were Cantabria (212) and La Rioja (193).
In June 2008, 59.1% of dwelling transactions were recorded in four Autonomous
Communities: Andalucía, Comunitat Valenciana, Comunidad de Madrid and Cataluña.
