Year of Mercy ~ July ~ Spiritual Work of Mercy: Bear Patiently Those Who Do Us Ill
How can we bear wrongs patiently:

Say a sincere prayer for the one who has offended you.

Remember that you have treated Jesus much worse
than this person has treated you.

Offer the suffering or humiliation that you have
received for some spiritual purpose uniting it to the
Cross of the Lord Jesus. Maybe offer it for the
Conversion of Sinners and all people, including the
person who hurt you, for the Relief of those suffering,
for the Conversion of our country, for the End of harm
to all children, born and unborn, or for some other
spiritual purpose that is dear to your heart.

Ask the Lord Jesus to purify you of the self-love that
makes you want to react in anger to that person.

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to remember how you
feel when you are mistreated, and to be aware of that
feeling when you are tempted to mistreat another
person.
By Bearing Wrongs Patiently, we grow more into the
image and likeness of Jesus Christ. We reflect His Love,
Patience and Mercy better to those around us, and by
doing so, we will be witnesses to the Power of His Love in
the world!
Cómo podemos soportar sufrir con paciencia:
We would like to send loving prayers and well wishes
to those who are having a birthday this week.

“We thank you, Lord, for the joy and pleasure these
people have brought to our lives. Grant that they may
lead a life that is filled with an abundance of laughter,
a limitless measure of love and contentment, and a
deep and abiding faith in you. Amen.”

On July 23rd from 3:00pm-9:00pm there will be a
Kérmes (fundraiser event) with food, music and fun
activities for all family. Invite your friends and help us
raise money to repair the brick-wall of the building.
If you are interested in donating food for a stand, doing
an activity or simply help please contact Mayra Torres by
calling the parish at 503 281-6461 or via email
[email protected].
Volunteer sign-up sheet is by entrance of the church.
Together we can do it!!!

maltratar a otra persona.
