CHRIST THE GOOD SHEPHERD CATHOLIC COMMUNITY SPRING, TEXAS 1 JUNE 21, 2015 21 de JUNIO 2015 CHRIST THE GOOD SHEPHERD CATHOLIC COMMUNITY 12TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME SPRING, TEXAS Frassati High School JUNE 21, 2015 12° DOMINGO DEL TIEMPO ORDINARIO 21 de JUNO 2015 High School Frassati (Preparatoria) This week at all of our Masses we are inviting you to consider supporting our Catholic High School in this area. Frassati High School is located at 22151 Frassati Way, just off of Spring Stuebner Road. The school is staffed by the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecelia Congregation. Their congregation was founded in 1860 and their motherhouse is in Nashville, TN. Frassati Catholic High School exists primarily to enable students to learn in a Christ-centered atmosphere of love and truth. The school reflects the philosophy of the Catholic Church as it pertains to education. Each student is recognized as an individual of eternal worth whose immortal soul is destined for happiness with God. Frassati Catholic High School endeavors to nourish the intellectual gifts of its students and to develop their spiritual and physical potential in view of their final end and the good of society. In order to carry out this mission, the faculty and staff of Frassati are committed to: providing an environment which enables students to grow in their faith and encourage each student to attain true self-worth as one created by God and in His image providing a college preparatory curriculum, capably taught, and motivating each student to individual excellence. Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, for whom the school is named, was known for his joy and jokes and for challenging his friends to virtue. His life illustrates that the words faithful, virtuous, joyful, zealous, athletic, studious and servant can all be used to describe a person who is animated by the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. His parents disapproved of his faith but this did not keep him from attending Mass daily, praying the rosary and Eucharistic adoration. He was committed to helping the poor throughout his life. He died at the age of 24 from polio. At the news of his death literally thousands of poor people surprised Frassati’s parents by surrounding their mansion on the day of his funeral. In his short life he accomplished much good by living out a life rooted in virtue and the beatitudes. For more information on Frassati Catholic High School go to: http://frassaticatholic.org/.
