Effective August 1, 2014, the existing QIO contractors will be replaced by two Beneficiary and Family‐Centered Care QIOs (BFCC‐QIOs). These new BFCC‐QIOs contractors will be responsible for conducting quality of care reviews, discharge and termination of service appeals, and other areas of required review in the various provider settings. They will also ensure consistency in the review process. This re‐organization will improve both patient care and health outcomes and save taxpayer resources. The BFCC‐QIO for Texas is KEPRO.
