To stay true to our Parish Mission of Placing God First, we invite you to gather as a family or community and “Bless Your
Homes”. Below are two options..
BLESSIG FOR YOUR HOME
Adapted from Bishop’s Committee on the Liturgy Catholic Household Blessings and Prayers
United States Catholic Conference of Bishops © 2007, pp. 205-208
Gather as a family in any room you desire. If possible, gather where there is a crucifix present. All: Make the sign of the cross.
The leader begins: May the God whom we glorify with one heart and voice enable us, through the Spirit, to live in harmony as followers
of Christ Jesus, now and forever. All: Amen.
The leader may use these or similar words to prepare those present for the blessing:
When Christ took flesh through the Blessed Virgin Mary, he made his home with us. Let us now pray that he will enter this home and
bless it with his presence. May he always be here among us; may he nurture our love for each other, share in our joys, comfort us in our
sorrows. Inspired by his teachings and example, let us seek to make our home before all else a dwelling place of love, diffusing far and
wide the goodness of Christ.
Scripture is read by another family member (or leader):
Listen to the words of the holy Gospel according to Luke (10: 38-42)
As they continued their journey, Jesus entered a village where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him. She had a sister named
Mary who sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak. Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him and said, “Lord, do
you not care that my sister has left me by myself to do the serving? Tell her to help me.” The Lord said to her in reply, Martha, Martha,
you are anxious and worried about many things. There is a need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be
taken from her.” The Gospel of the Lord. All: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ
Optional scriptures: Mark 1:29-30 (Jesus went straight to Simon’s house) or Luke 10:5-9 (Peace to this house)
Intercessions are then said by the leader:
The Son of God, Lord of heaven and earth, made his home among us. With thankfulness and gladness let us call upon him saying: All:
Stay with us, Lord.
Lord Jesus Christ, by your life with Mary and Joseph you sanctified the life of the home; dwell with us in our home, so that we may have
you as our guest and honor you as our Head. For this we pray: All: Stay with us, Lord.
In you every dwelling grows into a holy temple; grant that those who live in this house may be built up together into the dwelling place of
God in the Holy Spirit. For this we pray: All: Stay with us, Lord.
You taught your followers to build their houses upon solid rock; grant that the members of this family may hold fast to your teachings
and, free of all discord, serve you with their whole heart. For this we pray: All: Stay with us, Lord.
The leader says the prayer of blessing with hands joined:
Lord, be close to your servants who live in this home today and ask for your blessing. Be our shelter when we are at home, our
companion when we are away, and our welcomed guest when we return. And at last receive us into the dwelling place you have prepared
for us in your Father’s house, where you live forever and ever. All: Amen.
After the prayer of blessing, the leader sprinkles those present and the home with holy water brought from the Church.
The leader concludes the rite by saying:
May the peace of Christ rule in our hearts, and may the Word of Christ in all its richness dwell in us, so that whatever we do in word and
in work, we will do in the name of the Lord. All: Amen.
The blessing may conclude with a suitable song:
HOUSE BLESSIG RITUAL
An elder of the home marks with chalk on the outside or inside of the main door,
the current year and the initials of the Magi connected with crosses:
For the year 2013 (20 † C † M † B † 13)
Saying:
“May Christ Bless this House.” Amen
Then, sprinkle the door with Holy Water.
Para permanecer fiel a la misión de nuestra parroquia de colocar a Dios primero, le invitamos a reunirse como una familia o comunidad y "Bendigan sus

BEDICIÓ DEL HOGAR

Reúnanse en familia en cualquier habitación que deseen. Si es posible, hágalo donde haya un crucifijo presente. Todos: Hacer la señal de
la Cruz.
Comienza el líder: Que Dios, a quien glorificamos a una sola voz y con el corazón, nos permita a través del Espíritu, vivir en armonía
como seguidores de Cristo Jesús, ahora y para siempre. Todos: Amén.
El líder puede utilizar estas o palabras similares para preparar a los presentes para la bendición: Cuando Cristo se encarno a través
de la Santísima Virgen María, hizo su casa con nosotros. Oremos para que entre a esta casa y la bendiga con su presencia. Que siempre
esté aquí entre nosotros; que aumente nuestro amor por los demás, que comparta nuestras alegrías, que nos consuele en nuestros
dolores. Inspirados por sus enseñanzas y su ejemplo, hagamos de nuestro hogar un lugar donde more el amor y desde donde podamos
difundir ampliamente la bondad de Cristo.
Las escrituras se leen por otro miembro de familia (o líder): Escuchar las palabras del Santo Evangelio según San Lucas (10:38-42),
Jesús con sus discípulos entraron en un pueblo, y una mujer, llamada Marta, lo recibió en su casa. Tenía una hermana llamada
María, que sentada a los pies del Señor, escuchaba su palabra. Y Marta estaba absorta por los muchos quehaceres de la casa.
Hasta que se paró y dijo: "Señor, ¿no te importa que mi hermana me haya dejado sola en el servicio? dile que me ayude".
Pero el Señor le contestó: "Marta, Marta: tú andas preocupada y te pierdes en mil cosas: una sola es necesaria. María ha elegido
la mejor parte, y no le será quitada". El Evangelio del Señor. Todos: Gloria a ti Señor Jesús
Escrituras opcionales: Marcos 1:29-30 (Jesús fue directamente a casa de Simon) o Lucas 10:5-9 (paz a esta casa)
Se leen las Intercesiones por el líder:
El hijo de Dios, señor del cielo y la tierra, hizo su casa entre nosotros. Con gratitud y alegría clamemos a El diciendo:
Todos: Quédate con nosotros, señor.
Señor Jesucristo, por tu vida con María y José Tu santificaste la vida del hogar; mora con nosotros en nuestra casa, para que podamos
tenerte como nuestro invitado y te honremos como nuestro guía. Te rogamos señor.
Todos: Quédate con nosotros, señor.
En TI cada vivienda se hace un templo sagrado; permite que quienes vivan en esta casa puedan convertirse en la morada de Dios por la
Gracia del Espíritu Santo. Te rogamos Señor:
Todos: Quédate con nosotros, señor.
Ensenaste a tus seguidores a construir sus casas sobre roca sólida; concede a los miembros de esta familia que puedan aferrarse a tus
enseñanzas y, líbranos de toda discordia, para servirte con todo el corazón. Te rogamos Señor.
Todos: Quédate con nosotros, señor.
El líder une sus manos en oracion y dice la oración de bendición: Señor, quédate cerca de tus servidores que viven en esta casa hoy y
piden tu bendición. Se nuestro refugio cuando estamos en casa, nuestro compañero cuando estamos lejos y nuestro invitado cuando
volvemos. Y por ultimo recíbenos en la morada que nos has preparado en casa de tu Padre, donde vives desde ahora y para siempre.
Todos: Amén.
Después de la oración de bendición, el líder rocía a los presentes y la casa con agua bendita de la iglesia.
El líder concluye el rito diciendo: Que la paz de Cristo rija en nuestros corazones y que la palabra de Cristo en toda su abundancia
permanezca en nosotros, para que todo lo que digamos y hagamos sea en el nombre del Señor. Todos: Amén.
La bendición puede concluir con una canción adecuada:
RITO DE BEDICIÓ DEL HOGAR
La persona mayor de casa marca con tiza el exterior o interior de la puerta principal, el año en curso y las iniciales de los Reyes Magos
conectados con cruces:
Para el año 2013 (20 † C † M † B † 13)
Diciendo:
"Que Cristo bendiga esta casa." Amén
A continuación, rociar la puerta con agua bendita.
