Synopsis:
Emily and Andria talks about their friend’s
boyfriend, Javia. They are not too pleased
about how he treats her, he uses her. The two
friends seem to enjoy speaking about their
relationship, despite their friend’s situation

Emily: This is so fucked up how Javia treats Carmen.
All he does is stay in the house all day long, he don’t
do nothing, just play video games. He don’t clean,
he don’t cook. That man is no good for her, all he
does is use her, and take advantage of the fact that
she has a great career. She takes care of him, spoils
him and he acts like a big baby. This guy is supposed
to be her “man”.
Emily: Esto es tan jodido, en la manera en que Javia
trata a Carmen. Todo lo que hace es quedarse en la
casa durante todo el día, sin hacer nada más que
jugar juegos de video. Él no limpia, él no cocina. Ese
hombre no es bueno para ella, lo único que hace es
usarla, y aprovechar el hecho de que ella tiene una
gran carrera. Ella lo cuida, lo consiente y él se
comporta como un bebé grande. Se supone que
este tipo debería ser su "hombre".
Andria: Really? I remembered when she introduced
me to him, he seemed so nice. He was the perfect
gentleman, a sweetheart. I wonder what happened.
I thought he was better than that, but I guess he is
like most men, good for nothing. I am very shocked
and disappointed that he has turned out that way.
Andria: ¿En serio? Me acordé de cuando me lo
presentó, parecía tan agradable. Era el caballero
perfecto, un amor. Me pregunto qué pasó. Yo pensé
que él era mejor que eso, pero supongo que es
como la mayoría de los hombres, buenos para
nada. Estoy muy sorprendida y decepcionada de
que haya resultado ser así.
Emily: Ay, I don’t know, he just changed, after she
moved into his place, everything changed after that.
As the saying goes, you don’t really know someone
unless you’ve lived with him, right?
Emily: Ay, yo no sé, él solo cambió, después de que
ella se mudó para su casa, todo cambió después de
eso. Según el dicho, no se sabe muy bien a alguien
a menos que usted haya vivido con él, ¿verdad?
Andria: Well, he was living with his mom for a while.
Did he end up moving out and getting his own place
and she moved in with him?

Emily: No, he is still in that same room in his mother’s
place, he don’t have any ambition to do anything.
Emily: No, él todavía está en la misma habitación en
la casa de su madre, él no tiene ninguna ambición
de hacer nada.
Andria: Oh my god! Really? He is still there? Grown
man still living with his mother. So tell me something,
did she move in with him in his mother’s house? In
that little room?
Andria: ¡Oh Dios mío! ¿En serio? ¿Todavía está allí?

Emily: She had to, I guess, she was so in love, well, it’s
one of those things where she thought she was in
love. Hmmmm, he knows how to talk and flatter
people well, especially weak and vulnerable women
like Carmen.
Emily: Supongo que ella tuvo que hacerlo, estaba
tan enamorada, bueno, es una de esas cosas en las
que pensaba que estaba enamorada. Jmmm, él
sabe bien cómo hablarle y halagar a la gente, sobre

Andria: She is too old and mature to be doing some
teenage shit like this, moving in with a guy that still
lives with his mother. How old is he? I thought he was
older, he looks and act like he is 40 or something like
that?
Andria: Ella es demasiada grande y madura para
estar haciendo esa mierda de adolescente, yendo a
vivir con un tipo que aún vive con su madre.
¿Cuántos años tiene? pensé que era más viejo, él se

Emily: Ah, well, me too, 36 yrs. Old. When you met
him, all that was a front. He knows how to put on a
show to make people think he is about something he
is not, especially susceptible women like her. He can
be very manipulative.
Emily: Ah, pues, yo también, 36 años de edad.
Cuando lo conociste, todo eso fue una falsa. Él sabe
cómo montar un espectáculo para que la gente
piense que es algo que no es, en especial las
mujeres susceptibles como ella. Él puede ser muy
manipulador.
Andria: Wow! That is crazy!
Andria: ¡Vaya! !Eso es una locura!
Emily: Well, she told me, that he said that his mom is
getting old and she is very ill, and he needs to be
there to watch over her, and make sure she is okay,
etc., etc.
Emily: Bueno, ella me dijo que él le había dicho que
su madre se está poniendo vieja y ella está muy
enferma, y él tiene que estar allí para cuidarla, y
asegurarse de que ella esté bien, etc., etc.
Andria: Yes, he came across as that type of man,
loving and caring, not to mention Intelligent. When
we were all at that famous Restaurant after work,
drinking and partying that evening, he seemed really
cool and in control of himself. Even though he had
like 10 drinks he was able to hold his liquor and still be
a gentleman. He was still speaking proper and
everything, not slurring and cursing like the others, I
was impressed.
Andria: Sí, pareció ese tipo de hombre, cariñoso y
atento, sin mencionar inteligente. Cuando
estábamos todos en ese restaurante famoso
después del trabajo, bebiendo y festejando esa
noche, parecía tranquilo y en control de sí mismo. A
pesar de que él había tomado como 10 tragos, fue
capaz de tomar y seguir siendo un caballero. Aún
hablaba bien y todo, sin arrastrar ni maldecir como
los demás, me quedé impresionada.
Emily: Girl! You talk like you wanted him for yourself!
But anyway, yes, he is a great actor, and the only
thing he does, is try to make people believe he is this
Emily: ¡Chica! ¡Hablas como si lo quisieras para ti!

Andria: No I didn’t want him, just thought he was
attractive and carried himself well. We all want a
man like that, but these days, men tell a lot of lies.
When you meet them, you don’t know if you are
meeting them, or some representative. At least he is
able to hold his liquor, we gotta give him credit for
that, hahahaha.
Andria: No, yo no lo quería, simplemente pensaba
que era atractivo y se comportaba bien. Todas
queremos un hombre así, pero hoy en día, los
hombres dicen muchas mentiras. Cuando te
encuentras con ellos, no sabes si realmente son ellos,
o algún representante. Por lo menos, él sabe tomar
licor, tenemos que darle crédito por eso, jajajaja.
Well, all jokes aside, what the hell happened? I
thought he was on his way out of his mother’s house.
Bueno, dejando las bromas a un lado, ¿qué diablos
pasó? Pensé que él estaba por salir de la casa de su
madre.
Emily: Well he was, and then he met Carmen, and
that son of a bitch got lazier and lazier each day, he
became too comfortable. When I first met him, he
made me believe that he was about something, a
positive man, just out here trying to make it in life. He
got a lot of game (tricks), that man, but he is all talk.
Emily: Bueno si, estaba por salir, y entonces conoció
a Carmen, y ese hijo de puta se puso perezoso y más
perezoso cada día, se puso demasiado cómodo.
Cuando lo conocí, él me hizo creer que era un
hombre hecho y derecho, un hombre positivo,
tratando de echar para adelante. Él tiene un
montón de trucos, ese hombre pero es pura charla.
Andria: Thought he was the Perfect guy for Carmen.
Shit, I was waiting for the wedding. I already had my
dress tailor made for the big day and everything. I
guess I’ll have to return it, such a shame. Did you
know how long it took them to get it to fit just right?
Andria: Pensé que era el hombre perfecto para
Carmen. ¡Mierda! Yo estaba esperando la boda. Ya
tenía mi vestido hecho a medida para el gran día y
todo. Supongo que tendré que devolverlo, que
pena. ¿Sabes el tiempo que les llevó a conseguir
que se ajuste a la perfección?
Emily: Well too bad, I guess you’ll have to use it for
another event. Just don’t get fat and stop eating so
unhealthy girl. Try to stay in shape. If you do that,
you can keep the dress, maybe for my wedding,
hehehe.
Emily: Pues que decepción, supongo que tendrás
que utilizarlo para otro evento. Eso sí no engordes y
deja de comer comida poca saludable nena. Trata
de mantenerte en forma. Si haces eso, puedes
guardar el vestido, tal vez para mi boda jejejeje.
Andria: Hehehe, yes, well said, I am going to do just
that, this will be motivation for eating healthy and
exercise.
Andria: Jejejeje, sí, bien dicho, eso es precisamente
lo que voy a hacer, esto será la motivación para
comer saludable y hacer ejercicio.
Emily: But back to that no good man of Carmen’s.
All he does is play video games, he worries about
what level he is going to pass, or how many points he
is going to score in that stupid ass basketball game
he always plays; well this is what our friend says.
Emily: Pero volvamos al asunto del novio de
Carmen, un hombre bueno para nada. Todo lo que
hace es jugar juegos de vídeo, se preocupa por los
niveles que va a pasar, o cuántos puntos va a
marcar en ese partido de baloncesto de mierda que
siempre juega; bueno, esto es lo que dice nuestra
amiga.

Andria: So, I heard when they first got together, she
used to sneak to go see him,
It’s true?
Andria: Pues, yo escuche que cuando se estaban
conociendo, ella escondía para ir a verlo,

Emily: Yes, she use to spend the night there for six
months straight and the mother didn’t even know
she was there all this time. She didn’t know what the
hell was going on in her own house or who was there;
but she found out, and ended everything.
Emily: Sí, ella pasaba todas las noches allí durante
seis meses consecutivos y la madre ni siquiera sabía
que ella estaba allí todo este tiempo. Ella no sabía
qué diablos estaba pasando en su propia casa o
quien andaba allí; pero al final ella se enteró, y
termino todo.
Andria: What did she do when she found out she
was there all this time? You have to have a lot of
guts spending the night there and going to her
professional job every morning, how embarrassing!
Andria: ¿Qué hizo ella cuando se enteró de que ella
estaba allí todo este tiempo? Hay que tener muchas
agallas para pasar la noche allí y después irse a su
trabajo profesional cada mañana, ¡qué vergüenza!
Emily: Well, when she found out, she kicked her out
of her house. She was screaming at her and
everything, and told her: “Don’t ever come back to
my house ever again! You little Slut!” She went into
her son’s room and threw out all her things in the
street. All I did was listen and shook my head in
disbelief. I felt really sorry for her, unbelievable. The
mother is a real bitch.
Emily: Bueno, cuando ella se enteró, la echó de su
casa. Ella estaba gritándola y todo, y le dijo: "!No
vuelvas nunca más a mi casa!, ¡Pequeña perra!".
Entró a la habitación de su hijo y tiró todas sus cosas
a la calle. Todo lo que hice fue escuchar y negar la
cabeza con incredulidad. Sentí pena por ella, que
cosa. La madre es una verdadera perra.
Andria: Wow, we have to talk to her and get more
dirt out of her.
Andria: Vaya, tenemos que hablar con ella para
sacarle más chismes.
