Thank you for your ongoing support to York School! Our

being the amazing Superstars!
I have been an educator in the Hawthorne School District for
thirty years. Prior to becoming an administrator, I taught ten
years at Hawthorne Intermediate and Zela Davis. I also worked

California State University, Fresno.
My husband is a structural engineer. My son graduated from Otis Art and
Design School with his degree in Toy Design! How fun! My daughter will
graduate from CSUF this year with a major in Kinesiology.
Having had the great pleasure of being the principal of York for a total of 13
years, I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful families. I enjoy
keeping the valuable connections of the York alumni and I truly appreciate
those who come back to volunteer! The staff at York are all professional,
dedicated and want all children to love our school and go to college!
Follow York School on Facebook and refer to our website for updated
information. Feel free to contact me if you have any time to volunteer. I wish to

selected by USC to participate in their Summer Science Camp.
Ms. Carbajal’s ongoing mission for Zela Davis students is to make computer
literacy an integral part of the daily curriculum, using iPads and Chromebooks
for research projects and science activities. She hopes to increase the number
of computers in each classroom so that teachers can assign an activity and
students can work in pairs with a Chromebook or iPad to complete the task.
Increasing students’ familiarity with computers will also improve their typing
skills and ability to use word processing programs, something they will need
to master before taking the new Smarter Balanced state exams starting in the
third grade.
In 2015-2016 Ms. Carbajal and her STEM Staff will expand the Project
