The Minister awarded Jóvenes programme certificates along with “Camau”
Espínola
Tomada: “We all need that Corrientes province is
included in and becomes part of this national
project”
The Labour Minister, Carlos Tomada, participated along with Corrientes’ Major, Carlos “Camau”
Espínola, in the awarding of certificates of the Plan Jóvenes con Más y Mejor Trabajo at the
headquarters of the city hall.
The head of the labour portfolio said that “Corrientes should be included in the national project,
which generated growth in all the provinces, and strengthening in the industry and the domestic
market. The Nation relies on a labour policy which is not implemented in Corrientes, as the
province does not wish to articulate with the National Government. However, in the community
area, in this capital city of Corrientes, we were able to work, especially regarding youngsters’
insertion.”
Tomada particularly expanded on the problem of youngsters’ emigration in search of better
personal and job opportunities, where Corrientes is one of the provinces where the problem is
turning more serious. “Emigration in Corrientes has to be stopped; the province should be full of
opportunities and —why not— recover those who left,” the Minister said. The official also spoke
about recent agreements signed by Entre Ríos and Chaco provinces for the programme “Back to
Town,” intended to bring professionals or people who were trained in other places back to their
places of origin.
To conclude, the Minister spoke about the concern raised by “Camau” Espínola with regard to the
lack of peer review boards for the public sector in the province, by asserting that “a peer review
board is the most democratic institute of collective bargaining, especially in the public sector. They
are fundamental; workers must have guarantees and safety. I am aware that when Camau take
over as Governor these policies will extend to the whole province.”
