Looking Forward to a Great New Year!
Dear Parents:
My name is Mrs. Yates, and I will be your child’s third grade teacher this year. You and I will
be spending more time with your child in the upcoming school year than any other adults.
Because of this, I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself-both
personally and professionally.
I was born and raised in Van Nuys. I received my B.A. degree in Liberal Studies as well as my
credential from Loyola Marymount University in 2006. I received my M.A. degree in Language
and Literacy and my Reading Specialist credential from California State University Northridge
in 2011. This is my tenth year teaching.
I have planned an exciting year for my students. With the special assistance of my instructional
aide, we will work together to maximize our students’ educational growth in all academic areas.
I will keep you updated on all of the events for the month and more.
You are the most important people in your child’s life, and we need to work together for your
child’s benefit. I need you to support my academic, homework, and discipline efforts, and will
keep you informed about your child’s progress. My hope is that you will also update me on
celebrations, achievements, experiences, and even issues at home. With school and home
working together, I know your child can have a successful year.

Estimados Padres:
Mi nombre es Sra. Yates, y yo seré la maestra de su niño/a del tercer grado de este año. Usted y
yo estaremos pasando más tiempo con su hijo/a que cualquier otro adulto este año escolar.
Debido a esto, me gustaría aprovechar esta oportunidad para decirle unas cuantas cosas sobre mí,
tanto personal como profesionalmente.
Nací en la cuidad de Van Nuys. Recibí mi Bachillerato y mi credencial en Estudios Liberales de
la Universidad Loyola Marymount en 2006. Recibí mi Maestría de Lenguaje y Alfabetismo y mí
credencial de Especialista en Lectura de la Universidad de California State Northridge en 2011.
Durante cinco años, enseñe en la escuela Hesby Oaks Span School en la cuidad de Encino donde
adquirí la mayor parte de mi experiencia educativa. Este será mi décimo año de enseñanza.
He planeado un año emocionante para mis alumnos. Con la ayuda especial de mi ayudante
instruccional, trabajaremos juntos para maximizar nuestro crecimiento educativo de los alumnos
en todas las áreas académicas. Los mantendré actualizado en todos los eventos para el mes y
mucho más.
Ustedes son las personas más importantes en la vida de su hijo/a, y tenemos que trabajar juntos
en beneficio de su hijo/a. Necesito que apoyen mi académico, tareas y los esfuerzos de
disciplina y mantendremos informados sobre el progreso de su hijo/a. Mi esperanza es que usted
también me actualizar en celebraciones, logros, experiencias y problemas incluso en casa. Con la
escuela y hogar trabajar juntos, sé que su hijo/a puede tener un año exitoso.
