Message from our Head of School
Dear Families,
It is hard to believe that the year is almost over and our scholars have grown so
much. It has been amazing to see them learn everyday and we are excited to see all
of our scholars next year at Aurora! Just because the school year is over, doesn’t
mean learning should stop. We want to continue the progress our scholars have had
this year. Please continue to, read with your scholar every night, ensure they
complete the summer packet, take them to the public library and quiz them on math
facts. We cannot wait to see them back in the fall!

Science Demonstration: Blobs in a Bottle
A clean 1 liter clear soda bottle
¾ cup of water
Vegetable Oil
Alka Seltzer tablets
Food Coloring
What to do?
1. Pour the water into the bottle.
2. Use a measuring cup or funnel to slowly pour the vegetable oil into
the bottle until it’s almost full. You may have to wait a few minutes for
the oil and water separate.
3. Add 10 drops of food coloring to the bottle (we like red, but any color
will look great.) The drops will pass through the oil and then mix with
the water below.
4. Break a seltzer tablet in half and drop the half tablet into the bottle.
Watch it sink to the bottom and let the blobby greatness begin!
5. To keep the effect going, just add another tablet piece. For a true lava
lamp effect, shine a flashlight through the bottom of the bottle.

Un mensaje de nuestro director
Queridas familias,
Es difícil de creer que el año ha terminado y nuestros estudiantes han
crecido tanto. ¡Ha sido maravilloso verlos aprender todos los días y estamos
muy contentos de ver a todos nuestros estudiantes el próximo año en Aurora! El
hecho de que el año escolar ha terminado, no significa que el aprendizaje debe
parar. Queremos seguir el progreso que nuestros estudiantes han tenido este
año. Por favor continúe leyendo con su estudiante todas las noches, asegúrese de
que ellos completan el paquete de verano, los llevan a la biblioteca pública y
hágale preguntas de matemáticas. No podemos esperar para verlos en el otoño!

Demostración de ciencia: Globos en una Botella
Una botella de soda limpia de un litro transparente
¾ de un vaso de agua
Aceite de vegetal
Tabletas de Alka Seltzer
Colorante
¿Qué hacer?
1. Vacía el agua en la botella.
2. Usa un vaso de medir o un embudo para vaciar el aceite en la botella
hasta que casi se llene. Tendrá que esperar unos minutos para
esperar para que el aceite se separe del agua.
3. Anide 10 gotas de colorante a la botella (a nosotros nos gusta el rojo,
pero usa cualquier color.) Las gotas pasaran por el aceite y se
mezclaran con el agua abajo.
4. Quiebra la tableta de alka seltzer en mitad y pon una mitad en la
botella. Mírala mientras se caí hacia abajo y ¡mira que empiece las
burbujas!
5. Para mantener el efecto, meta otro pedazo de tableta. Para un efecto
verdadero de lámpara de lava, brille una linterna por debajo de la
botella.
