July 2015. Provisional data
8,074 mercantile companies are created in July, 1.4% more than in
the same month of 2014, and 1,432 are dissolved, 8.7% less
The Autonomous Communities with the greatest business
dynamism1 are La Rioja (45.8%), Canarias (17.5%) and Región de
Murcia (16.8%)
8,074 mercantile companies were created in July, that is, 1.4% more than in the same month
of 2014. The capital subscribed for their constitution exceeded 505 million euros,
representing an increase of 33.8%. The average capital subscribed (62,561 euros) increased
32.0% in its annual rate.
On the other hand, 2,510 mercantile companies increased their capital in July, 5.5% less
than in the same month of 2014. The capital subscribed in the increases registered a
decrease of 15.6% and exceeded 3,127 million euros. The average capital subscribed in
these transactions (1,245,912 euros) decreased 10.7% in its annual rate.
The number of companies dissolved in July was 1,432, that is, 8.7% less than in the same
month of 2014. Among these, 65.6% did so voluntarily, 8.3% due to mergers and the
remaining 26.1 % for other reasons.

Performance of the monthly rate
In order to contribute to the analysis and interpretation of the data, the following chart shows
the variation in the number of mercantile companies created and dissolved between June
and July in the last five years. In 2015, the monthly variation of the number of companies
created was ‒2.2% and that of the companies dissolved was ‒0.7%.
Results by main economic activity
21.2% of the mercantile companies created in the month of July corresponded to Trade and
17.9% to Construction. Regarding the dissolved companies, 21.5% corresponded to
Construction and 20.0% to Trade.

The activity with the greatest net balance of mercantile companies created in July 2015 was
Trade, with 1,427 new companies.
On the contrary, Transport and storage registered the lowest net balance, with 161
companies created.
The economic activity with the greatest capital subscribed of the mercantile companies
created was Real estate, financial and insurance activities, with 259.39 million euros.
In turn, Transportation and Storage presented the lowest capital subscribed, with 4.49 million
euros.

Results by Autonomous Communities
The Autonomous Communities with the greatest number of mercantile companies created in
July were Comunidad de Madrid (1,773), Cataluña (1,703), and Andalucía (1,359).
Conversely, the Autonomous Communities where less mercantile companies were created
were La Rioja (35), Comunidad Foral de Navarra (36), and Cantabria (59).
Regarding the dissolved mercantile companies, the Autonomous Communities that
presented the highest number of dissolutions were Comunidad de Madrid (368), Cataluña
(174) and Andalucía (170).
In turn, those with the lowest number of dissolutions were Comunidad Foral de Navarra (10)
and La Rioja (11).

In terms of annual variation of the number of mercantile companies created, La Rioja
(45.8%), Canarias (17.5%) and Región de Murcia (16.8%) recorded the highest rates.
In turn, Comunidad Foral de Navarra (–35.7%), Extremadura (–27.0%) and Principado de
Asturias (–16.7%) registered the greatest decreases.
Regarding the mercantile companies dissolved, País Vasco (31.3%), La Rioja (22.2%) and
Castilla y León (7.2%) were the Autonomous Communities to register the highest positive
rates.
In turn, the Autonomous Communities registering the lowest annual rates were Región de
Murcia (–35.3%), Andalucía (–33.6%) and Principado de Asturias (–30.0%).
