News for the Latin-American HYPACK Users

Here we are still celebrating the New Year and of course is time to evaluate last year results
and to make plans for the New Year.
We are happy to say that our Latin-American family of
users continues to grow and HYPACK® has become,
by far, a standard for the hydrographic world. Not only
do we have more users, but our HYSWEEP® family is
starting to grow very rapidly. We even have some
users with multibeam and LIDAR systems installed on
boats and using HYPACK® as the integrating tool.
In the picture, we are presenting a plaque to our
Reseller in Colombia to recognize him as the best
reseller in the region. Congratulations to Jose Antonio
Vasquez, from DISSMAN for helping us to increase
the number of users in the Region. Best wishes to him
and his crew, and good luck on their goal to obtain
their 10th plaque as the Best Reseller in the Region
during 2015.
PLANS FOR LATIN-AMERICA
Plans for 2015 in Latin-America includes the following activities:
•
HYPACK Seminar in Guatemala City (June 24th to 26th), Argentina (final dates are
pending) and Colombia (August 10th to 12th).
•
Multibeam Courses in Mexico, Uruguay (May 24th to 29th) and Colombia (November
proposed).
Volume Class in Guatemala (June 22nd and 23rd)
Conferences: HYPACK will be attending the US HYDRO conference in Maryland USA,
the MACHC meeting in Antigua & Barbuda and the Smart Rivers Conference in
Argentina, where we will be presenting papers and will be willing to meet with our users to
strengthen our relationship.
These activities don’t include the custom training that we will be conducting for several users.
Those courses will be tailored to their specific needs and will have us traveling to Mexico,
Argentina, Ecuador and Colombia (so far).

Please let us know if there is a particular course that you are interested in, as you may know
we have courses for multibeam, single beam, side scan sonar, and volumes that we can
conduct in Spanish in your own country, if there is enough interest.

SPANISH TRANSLATION PROJECTS
Documentation: We are completing the translation of all the training presentations into
Spanish. The new CD will be available shortly. We are also working hard to have the
HYPACK® Manual available in Spanish. We plan to have it ready in June 2015.
HYPACK® Interface: You will see significant change in the text within the programs. We
invested a lot of time translating all of the text in the language database, which provides the
Spanish text in the HYPACK® interface, so the Spanish version of HYPACK® is now much
more complete. (We are still missing some text.) There will probably be cases where you
don’t like the translation because it’s not the term used in your country, and that’s fine. You
can just use the lngEdit.exe and change whatever term you don’t use or like.

Another piece of good news for the Latino-American region: we will be growing our Spanishspeaking staff in order to give you better support in your own language. So soon we will have
another person supporting you all.

NOTICIAS PARA LOS USUARIOS HYPACK DE LATINOAMÉRICA
Todavía estamos celebrando el Año Nuevo y por supuesto es tiempo de evaluar los
resultados del año anterior y de hacer planes para el año nuevo.
En cuanto al año anterior, estamos felices de
contarles que nuestra familia de usuarios en
Latinoamérica continua creciendo y de lejos
HYPACK® se ha convertido en el estándar para el
mundo hidrográfico. No solo tenemos más usuarios,
sino que nuestra familia de usuarios de HYSWEEP®
continua creciendo rápidamente e incluso tenemos
algunos usuarios con sistemas Multihaz y Lidar
instalados en botes y usando HYPACK® como la
herramienta integradora.
En la siguiente imagen le estamos presentando a
nuestro Agente en Colombia, una placa
reconociéndolo como el Mejor Agente en la Región
durante el 2014, felicitaciones a José Antonio
Vásquez, de DISSMAN por ayudarnos tan entusiastamente a aumentar el número de
usuarios en la Región. Los mejores deseos para él y su gente y Buena Suerte en su meta de
completar durante el 2015, su 10th placa como Mejor Agente en la Región.
PLANES PARA 2015 EN LATINOAMÉRICA INCLUYEN LAS
SIGUIENTES ACTIVIDADES:
Planes para 2015 en Latinoamérica incluyen las siguientes actividades:
Seminarios HYPACK en Ciudad de Guatemala (June 24 al 26) organizado por nuestro
Agente TECNOLOGIA MARINA AZUL, en Buenos Aires, Argentina (Fechas aun
definiéndose con nuestro Agente INGENIEROS ELECTRONICOS ASOCIADOS) y
Barranquilla, Colombia (Agosto 10 a 12).
Cursos Multihaz en Montevideo, Uruguay el primero del (Mayo 24 a 29) en apoyo al IPGH y
el Segundo abierto para nuestros Usuarios y siendo organizado por nuestro Agente en
Uruguay CLEDIRSA. También se están organizando cursos en México y Colombia con
ayuda de nuestros Agentes SEAPROD y DISSMAN (Fechas pendientes por confirmar).
Curso Volúmenes: En Guatemala, Junio 22 y 23.
Conferencias: Estaremos atendiendo a US HYDRO en Maryland USA, La Reunión del
MACHC en Antigua & Barbuda y el Seminario “Smart Rivers” en Argentina, donde estaremos
presentando ponencias y estaremos deseosos de encontrarnos con nuestros usuarios para
estrechar nuestras relaciones y conocer como los podemos apoyar mejor.
Estas actividades no incluyen entrenamientos particulares que serán conducidos para
diferentes usuarios, estos cursos son diseñados específicamente para cumplir las
necesidades de ellos y nos harán viajar a México, Argentina, Ecuador y Colombia hasta el
momento.

Por favor déjenos saber si hay algún curso en particular en el que estén interesados, como
ustedes saben tenemos varios cursos para Multihaz, Monohaz, Sonar de Barrido Lateral y
Cálculo de Volúmenes que podemos realizar en Español y en su propio país, si encontramos
suficiente interés en ello.

PROYECTOS DE TRADUCCIÓN AL ESPAÑOL
Documentacion: Estamos completando la traducción al español de todas las
presentaciones de Entrenamiento, y en breve tendremos el Nuevo CD para el 2015.
También deseo informarles que estamos trabajando fuertemente en la traducción del Manual
HYPACK en Español, el que esperamos tener listo en Junio 2015.
Interfaz HYPACK ® En la nueva versión de HYPACK 2015 verán importantes cambios en
los textos traducidos dentro de los diferentes programas, hemos gastado bastante tiempo
hacienda que todo el texto existente en nuestros programas haga parte de la Base de Datos
de Lenguaje y por tanto nuestra versión en Español es mucho mejor ahora. Aún hay texto
faltante y probablemente encontrarán palabras o expresiones que no les gusten porque no
se usan en su país, eso no tiene problema, por cuanto solo necesita ir al programa
lngEdit.exe que le da acceso a nuestra base de datos de lenguaje y hacer el cambio que
desee.

Otra Buena noticia para la Región de Latinoamérica es que aumentaremos nuestro personal
de habla hispana con miras a darles un mejor soporte en idioma Español, por lo que
prontamente tendremos otra persona más dándoles soporte.
