We have been very active in the Latin American Region, helping our users to start their new
projects, participating in interesting events and providing training in general. Here we have a
quick view of some of the things we did in the last two months.
BRAZILIAN HYPACK® SEMINAR
The event was coordinated by our distributor in Brazil, A2 Marine. They are always very
active and organized a nice seminar. Mike Brissette, from R2Sonic, joined us to demonstrate
their products and, together, we also demonstrated how to work with R2Sonic devices in
HYPACK®/HYSWEEP®. In this seminar, we were more focused on multibeam surveys.
Thanks to A2 Marine for an awesome job! Thanks also to R2Sonic for their important
participation, and to all of our users in Brazil who attended the event.

FOCAHIMECA PROJECT
The General Director of the Mesoamerica Integration and Development Project, under the
Foreign Affairs Secretary of Mexico and the Secretary of the Navy through the General
Directorate of Oceanography, Hydrography and Meteorology (DIGAOHM) invited us to
participate, giving a HYPACK® training, at the FOCAHIMECA project from July 13th to the
15th. We had attendees from 21 different countries in that region:

All of them represented their National Hydrographic Offices and are receiving support from
DIGAOHM to increase their capabilities in hydrography. Most of them are already HYPACK®
users. Others have plans to become HYPACK® users soon or to increase the number of
licenses they have. It was very important for them all to obtain more training in HYPACK®, so
they can get the most out of the package.
Thanks to SEMAR – DIGAOHM for
inviting us and organizing such a nice
training. Thanks, also, to our reseller in
Mexico. They not only shared some of the
expenses of this trip, but also facilitated a
boat with a complete multibeam system,
and collected (with HYPACK®/
HYSWEEP®) several very interesting
data sets that we used to show what can
be done in a multibeam survey. Also,
thanks to two very important
organizations, AMEXCID and ACS for
supporting the attendees in traveling to
Veracruz, Mexico for this course.

OTHER ACTIVITIES
We installed new sensors to the Hopper Dredge Mahury near Barranquilla, Colombia. That
dredge is one of several dredges that belongs to Dragados Hidraulicos, one of the oldest
HYPACK® users in Colombia. We have plans to assist with an install on another of their
dredges soon.
In Dominican Republic, we re-calibrated the system and trained the new crew on one of the
Envirogold dredges, and assisted Dragados del Caribe with their brand new multibeam
system. They are longtime HYPACK® and DREDGEPACK® users, and we thank them for
their trust and for being part of the HYPACK family.

UPCOMING HYPACK® SEMINARS IN SPANISH
Peru: We are late getting started with the Spanish Seminars, but we will start them soon
starting with Lima, Peru from August 2th to the 4th.
We will take advantage of this trip to visit The Direccion de Hidrografia y Navegacion del
Peru, as well as other important users in Peru who want to talk to us regarding new projects
where they will use HYPACK® to integrate all of their new sensors. Many thanks to our
reseller in Peru, BIDHUMVA, for organizing all of those activities and Humberto Vasquez.
Argentina: The next seminar will be in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 3rd through 5th.
After the seminar, we will conduct a multibeam demo. All of those activities are being
organizing by our reseller in Argentina, so if you want more information, please do not
hesitate to contact Wendell Jones, from Ingenieros Electronicos Asociados.
Panama: The last seminar in Spanish will be in Ciudad de Panama; in October 18 to the 20th
again the local arrangements are being conducted by our reseller in the country. For more
info please contact Rafael Carvallo, at TECARSA, he will be more than glad to provide you
any info you may need and also it would be a great opportunity to visit the new Panama
Canal.
They are a lot more activities coming in the next few months. As a matter of fact, we already
have a full agenda through the end of the year! So, once more, thank you to all of our users!
We will keep doing all that we can to make HYPACK® the best hydrographic software in the
world.

Hemos estado muy activos en la Región de Latinoamérica, ayudando a nuestros usuarios a
comenzar nuevos proyectos, participando en eventos interesantes y proveyendo
entrenamiento en general. Aquí un rápido vistazo a algunas de las cosas que hicimos en
estos dos últimos meses.
SEMINARIO HYPACK EN BRASIL
El evento fue coordinado por nuestro Distribuidor en Brasi, A2 Marine, ellos son siempre muy
activos y organizaron un muy buen Seminario que también conto con la participación de
Mike Brissette de R2Sonic, quien demostró sus productos y también pudimos mostrarle a los
asistentes como integrar esos sistemas con HYPACK®/HYSWEEP®. En este seminario nos
enfocamos mas en Levantamientos Multihaz. Gracias a A2 Marine por tan excelente trabajo,
también a R2Sonic por su importante participación y a todos nuestros usuarios en Brasil que
atendieron el evento.

El Director General del Proyecto para la Integración y Desarrollo de Mesoamérica del
Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y la Dirección General Adjunta de Oceanografía,
Hidrografia y Meteorología (DIGAOHM) nos invitaron a participar en el Proyecto
FOCAHIMECA proporcionando entrenamiento sobre el software HYPACK® desde el 13 al
15 de Julio pasados. Asistieron representantes de 21 diferentes países de la región entre los

proyecto para incrementar sus
capacidades en Hidrografia. La mayoría
de ellos ya son usuarios de HYPACK® y
algunos otros tienen planes para
adquirirlo o para incrementar el número
de licencias que tienen disponibles, por lo
que para todos ellos fue realmente
importante obtener mas entrenamiento
en la operación de HYPACK® de manera
que le puedan sacar el máximo Proyecto
al paquete. Gracias a la SEMAR –
DIGAOHM por habernos invitado a
participar y por organizar tan importante entrenamiento, también nuestros especiales
agradecimientos a nuestro Agente SEAPROD, ellos no solo cubrieron parte de los costos de
nuestro desplazamiento, sino que facilitaron un bote equipado con un Sistema multihaz
complete integrado con HYPACK®/HYSWEEP®, el cual colecto varios juegos de datos de
áreas de interés en el Puerto de Veracruz que fueron utilizados durante el entrenamiento.
También nuestros agradecimientos a dos muy importantes organizaciones, la AMEXCID y la
ACS quienes proveyeron apoyo financiar para el desplazamiento de los asistentes a
Veracruz, México.

OTRAS ACTIVIDADES
En este periodo integramos nuevos sensores a la Draga de Tolva Mahury, ubicada cerca de
Barranquilla, Colombia. Esa draga es una de las varias dragas que pertenecen a Dragados
Hidraulicos, uno de los más viejos usuarios de HYPACK® en Colombia. Pronto estaremos
integrando otra de sus dragas con DREDGEPACK®.
También recalibramos y proporcionamos entrenamiento a las nuevas tripulaciones de las
dragas de Envirogold en República Dominicana y apoyamos a Dragados del Caribe a
terminar de configurar su Nuevo Sistema Multihaz. Ellos también son usuarios desde hace
algún tiempo de HYPACK® y DREDGEPACK®, por lo que les agradecemos su confianza y
por ser parte de la familia de HYPACK.

SE ACERCAN LOS SEMINARIOS HYPACK® EN ESPAÑOL
Perú: Empezamos tarde este año con nuestros Seminarios en Español, comenzaremos por
Lima, Perú del 2 al 4 de Agosto próximos, y tomaremos ventaja de este viaje para visitar a la
DIRECCION DE HIDROGRAFIA Y NAVEGACION del Perú. Así mismo visitaremos otros
importantes usuarios que desean hablar con nosotros sobre sus nuevos proyectos y ver la
forma como HYPACK los puede ayudar a cumplir sus objetivos y, como integramos sus
sensores. Muchas gracias a nuestro Agente en Perú, BIDHUMVA, por organizar todas esas
actividades, muchas gracias Humberto Vasquez.
Argentina: El próximo Seminario será en Buenos Aires, Argentina del 3 al 5 de Octubre, e
inmediatamente después del Seminario participaremos en una demostración de Multihaz,
actividades organizadas por nuestro Agente para Argentina, la firma Ingenieros Electrónicos
Asociados, por favor no duden en contactar a Wendell Jones por información al respecto.
Panamá: El ultimo Seminario en Español de este año será en Ciudad de Panamá; del 18 al
20 de Octubre próximos, de Nuevo los arreglos locales los esta organizando nuestro Agente
en Panamá, Para mayor información por favor no duden en contactar a Rafael Carvallo, de
TECARSA, quien estará mas que contento de proporcionarles toda la información que
requieran, esta también será una gran oportunidad para visitar el Nuevo Canal de Panamá.
Habrá muchas más actividades en los próximos meses. De hecho ya tenemos la Agenda
completa hasta el final del año, por lo que una vez más, nuestros agradecimientos a todos
nuestros usuarios en Latinoamérica, seguiremos haciendo nuestro mejor esfuerzo para que
HYPACK siga siendo el mejor Software hidrográfico del mundo lo cual hacemos con su
constante y decidido apoyo.
