VST is a multi-generational approach. The initial
transformation activity lays the groundwork for
continued progress. Value stream mapping,
management systems gap analysis, and cultural
assessment generate action plans consisting of
quick win opportunities, 6 Sigma Rapid
Improvement Workshops (RIW), and 6 Sigma
projects.

A cross-functional VST team of employees,
supervisors, support staff, and 6 Sigma black
belts work together, under the leadership and
support of the value stream process owner and
master black belt

at least 2 from the RIW area. All team
members are dedicated fulltime for all 5
days of the workshop. Other SME’s are on
call during RIW.
