Parent Conference Night/Noche de Conferencias
This year we are excited to add a personalized learning twist to our parent teacher
conferences. Each parent signed up for a 30 minute block of time with their child’s
teacher. During this block, parents will rotate across 3 different stations with their child. It will
consist of spending 10 minutes at the technology station, 10 minutes at the
independent/collaboration station & 10 minutes at the teacher table discussing your child’s data.
You will get to experience personalized learning just as your child does every day! THE
COMPLETED FORM SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN RETURNED.
Eéste año estamos muy contentos de añadir un toque de aprendizaje personalizado a nuestras
conferencias. Cada padre se inscribió en un bloque de 30 minutos con el maestro de su hijo.
Durante esta conferencia los padres rotarán a través de tres estaciones diferentes con sus hijos.
Consistirá en pasando 10 minutos en la estación de la tecnología, 10 minutos a la estación
independiente/colaboración y 10 minutos en la mesa de la maestra para discutir sobre los datos
de su hijo. EL FORMULARIO COMPLETO YA DEBERÍA HABER SIDO DEVUELTO.

Positive Character Strength ~ Fairness: This weeks’
Positive Character Strength is: Fairness. When you have the
Positive Strength of FAIRNESS, you believe that all people
have value. You approach situations with an unbiased or
impartial mindset & treat everyone with respect. Parents can
help their child put FAIRNESS into action by reminding them to
do their best to pause & look at both sides of a story during a
disagreement & try to understand all sides before making any
judgement. Parents can discuss ways that simple family
decisions like who gets to choose where to go out to eat for a
special occasion or which movie they get to watch can be done
fairly & equitably. Helping students to problem solve peacefully
& to learn the value of FAIRNESS & the perspectives of others,
before we make judgement, will help them develop the
positive mindset that not only do they matter, but that also
OTHER PEOPLE MATTER!
Fall College Night: Please join us on October 13th (4:306:30pm) during Parent Conference Night for Zaragoza’s
Fall College Night. Zaragoza will host representatives from
approximately 20 different schools & institutions of higher
educations (several of whom were either former Zaragoza
Students or Relatives of our students). Students & their family
are encouraged to join in the learning & fun. There will be
goodies & refreshments for students who complete the
College Night Tour as well as a chance to win prizes & raffles!
Student of Character Nominations: We’d like to foster &
recognize our students' Positive Character Strengths. At the
end of each Six Weeks, we ask Teachers to nominate one
student from each homeroom class to recognize them for
being an outstanding student of character. This student,
ideally, would be a student that has best represented the core
TRRFCC (Terrific) values of Character Counts! (T: Trustworthy,
R: Responsible, R: Respectful, F: Fair, C: Caring and C:
Citizenship) as well as demonstrated growth in our Positivity
Projects Positive Character Strengths (eg: Curiosity, Openmindedness, Kindness, etc.). Parents can also recognize their
child by nominating them for this award. We will feature these
students on our Students of Character Board & students will
receive an iPad pass.
Personaje del Proyecto Positivo ~ Equidad: Esta semana el
personaje positivo es: Equidad. Cuando se tiene la fuerza positiva de
equidad, crees que todas las personas tienen valor. Te acerquas a
situaciones con una mentalidad sin prejuicios ni imparcial y tratas a
todos con respeto. Los padres pueden ayudar a su hijo a poner en
acción IMPARCIALIDAD recordándoles que hagan todo lo posible para
hacer una pausa y mirar a ambos lados de una historia durante una
discusión y tratar de entender todos los lados antes de tomar cualquier
decisión. Los padres pueden discutir las maneras en que las decisiones
de la familia simples como quién va a elegir dónde ir a comer para una
ocasión especial o qué película van a ver que se puede hacer imparcial
y de manera equitativa. ¡Ayude a los estudiantes a resolver problemas
pacíficamente y aprender el valor de la justicia y las perspectivas de
los demás, antes de hacer juicio, les ayudará a desarrollar la
mentalidad positiva que no sólo son importantes, sino que también a
otras personas importan!
Noche Universitaria del otoño: Por favor, únase con nosotros el 13
de octubre (4:30-6:30 pm) durante la Noche de Conferencia de
Padres para la Noche de la Universidad. Zaragoza acogerá a
representantes de aproximadamente 20 diferentes escuelas e
instituciones de educación más altas (varios de los cuales eran o son
ex alumnos de Zaragoza o familiares de nuestros estudiantes). Los
estudiantes y sus familias están invitados a unirse en el aprendizaje y
la diversión. ¡Habrá golosinas y refrescos para los estudiantes que
completan el Tour Nocturno de la Universidad así como una
oportunidad de ganar premios y rifas!
Nominaciones de Estudiantes con Carácter: Nos gustaría fomentar
y reconocer las fortalezas de carácter positivo de nuestros estudiantes.
Al final de cada seis semanas, les preguntamos a los profesores que
nominen a un estudiante de cada clase a reconocerlos por ser un
estudiante sobresaliente del carácter. Este estudiante, idealmente,
sería un estudiante que ha representado los valores de carácter
TRRFCC (Terrific) (T: digno de confianza, R: Responsable, R:
Respetuoso, R: Regular, C: El cuidado y C: Ciudadanía), así como el
crecimiento demostrado en nuestros puntos fuertes de carácter
Proyectos positividad (por ejemplo: la curiosidad, apertura de espíritu,
la bondad, etc.). Los padres también pueden reconocer a sus hijos por
nominación para este premio. Presentaremos estos estudiantes en
nuestra pared para Estudiantes de Carácter y recibirán un pase iPad.
Book Character Day

On Monday, October 31st, students are able to come to school dressed as a
character from a book. Who will you be?
Parents, please make sure the costume is appropriate for school and that your
child has the book with them. Masks and toy weapons will not be allowed.
El lunes, 31 de octubre, los estudiantes pueden venir a la escuela vestidos como
un personaje de un libro. ¿Quién vas a ser?
Padres, por favor asegúrese de que el traje sea apropiado para la escuela y que su
hijo tenga el libro con ellos. No se permitirán mascaras o armas de juguete.
