médicos
Fecha: Del 25 de agosto al 5 de septiembre.
Duración: 20 horas.
Horario: tardes de 16 a 18 o de 18 a 20 horas.

Se exige un nivel mínimo B1 (intermedio).
Module 1: HOSPITALS AND SPECIALISTS
-Wards and departments.
-Medical specialities.
General objective: Familiarization with British Hospital systems.
Specific objectives: Practice and use specific target language. Layout of hospitals.
Task: Create your own ideal hospital.
Module 2: GP
-Dealing with patients.
-In a doctor surgery.
-Symptoms, Diagnose and Treatment
General Objective: Understanding and interpreting how the patients describe their
symptoms (pain, ache…).
Specific Objective: Descriptive language and adverbials to describe illnesses
Task: Role play.
Module 3: Examining a patient
-Giving basic instructions to patients and monitoring their results.
General Objectives: To get familiarized with action verbs to understand cause/effect
in a patient
Specific Objectives: Exposing participants to different patients’ descriptive language
Making a diagnosis and treatment and recommendations.
Task: Role play.
Module 4: A&E
Emergency Room
(Accident
and
Emergency)
(ER-USA)
- Personnel.
- 999 calls.
- Interpretation and evaluation of calls.
- Action and diagnose.
General Objective: To expose participants to different linguistic and lexical language
Specific Objective: Exposure to different accents. Direct Q&A. Exposing participants
to specific language: traffic accidents, falls, drowning, poisoning, burning, wounds and
injuries.
Task: House fact /fiction.
Module 5: Lifestyle and Health.

Screening and preventive medicines; medical check-ups.
-IIllness Today (Obesity, anorexia and bulimia).
-M
Modern illness: stress
General Objective: Exposing participants to differing lexis’ and structures that allow
effective interaction.
Specific Objectives: Acquisition of target language placed into context
Task; Compare and contrast now and then- Role play (debate)
Module 6: Presentations
General Objective: Presentational language in a medical context.
Specific Objectives: To be able to deliver a presentation related to work making
appropriate use of the language.
