The Metro Silver Line bus service and the Metro Expo Line light rail are both fast options for getting between the USC area and downtown and are an easy way to avoid construction. Metro rail and bus services can also serve longer distance commuter trips into downtown. Check routes and schedules at metro.net to plan your trip! During MyFigueroa Construction, it’s even more important to consider traveling to these events by other means than driving, like Metro or rideshare. If you drive, try alternate streets to head North or South, like Vermont, Flower, or Grand. During construction, we should all be even more alert to look out for each others’ safety. When driving, be patient and extra vigilant for people walking or biking. When biking, obey the same signals and traffic laws as cars and avoid riding in unexpected places like the sidewalk or in the opposite direction of traffic. And when walking, take extra caution when crossing the street, since signals and street conditions will be different than before. Durante la construcción tenemos que ser más alertos y tener en cuenta la seguridad de los demas. Cuando maneje, tenga mucho cuidado con la gente que esté caminando o en bicicleta. Cuando ande en bicicleta, obedezca los mismos señales y leyes de tráfico como los carros. Evite usar su bicicleta sobre banquetas, caminos para peatones, y bicicletear en la dirección opuesta al demas tráfico. Y cuando camine, tenga precaución al cruzar las calles, como los señales y las condiciones de la calle serán diferentes a como estaban antes.
