Dear Families,
It has been amazing to see how our students come to school eager to
learn on a daily basis. Our teachers are full of ideas and have gotten
our school year up and running with a lot of school activities that
promote student participation, positive learning environment, and a
love for learning. Our Parent Teacher Club and Student Council are
working diligently to carry out monthly, if not weekly school activities
that will help increase student and parent involvement, as well as
fundraisers for educational opportunities. Our Fall School Carnival was
a great success. Fundraising took place, and we saw families enjoying
their time at this event. Thank you all for coming out and supporting
our Loya Lions! Many thanks to our Loya Community-Parents, Teachers,
and Students! J
COUN SELOR’ S CORN ER
October is National Bullying Prevention
Month! Our school counselor will work on
classroom bullying presentations. Students will
learn how confidence can help them take a
stand against bullying. Loya staff is dedicated
to making our school a Bully Free school and
we will be achieving this goal by committing
to take bullying behavior seriously while
teaching positive behavior. We would like
parents to help out as well. Together we can
make things better for all. Here are some tips:
❑ Teach friendship and other pro-social
skills.
❑ Praise children for appropriate
behavior.
❑ Set & reinforce clear behavioral
expectations.
❑ Teach bullying prevention.
❑ Watch for signs of bullying and inform
your school
❑ Help a child who is bullying learn
alternative behaviors.

Principal’s Message…
Dear Parents,
Please respect school zone speed limit. Student safety is imperative and
we must be careful at all times. It is important that we display safetydriving habits for the safety of our students. I ask that you please respect
staff parking, and that handicapped parking is also respected.
Additionally, keep in mind that our teachers are growing professionally
on a daily basis. Due to professional development, teachers need to be
out of the classroom to attend trainings. This year, we continue to have
many initiatives that require teachers to be in training. Thank you so
much for your understanding.
Finally, please remember to support your child at home with schoolwork.
Five-ten minutes of quality time mean the world to your child.

Resp onsib ility: Loya Lions believe in being responsible
at all times. Responsibility requires for us to be reliable
and dependable. When we agree to do something, we do
it! We take responsibility for our actions; and don’t make
excuses or blame others.
S AFE FE S T IV IT Y
Autumn events like Halloween and Harvest Day are fun times
to dress up in costumes, go trick-or-treating, and eat yummy
treats. These events are also opportunities to provide
nutritious snacks, get physical activity, and focus on safety.
Below are tips to help make the festivities fun and safe for
trick-or-treaters.
☛Do NOT trick-or-treat alone. Walk in groups or with an adult. Do
NOT ENTER homes, unless with an adult.
☛Examine all treats before eating them. Eat only factory-wrapped
treats. Avoid eating homemade treats made by strangers.
☛Hold a flashlight while trick-or-treating to help you see & others
see you. Always WALK and don't run from house to house.
☛Look both ways before crossing the street. Use crosswalks!

Estimadas Familias,
Ha sido muy emocionante ver como los estudiantes vienen todos los
días listos para aprender y llenos de entusiasmo. Nuestros maestros
están llenos de grandes ideas y han implementado muchas
actividades que motivan a nuestros estudiantes a participar y
aprender. Nuestro Club de Padres y Maestros, y el Concilio
Estudiantil están trabajando duro para llevar acabo mensualmente,
si no semanalmente, actividades escolares que incrementarán la
participación de padres y alumnos. También están trabajando en
unión para llevar acabo actividades o maneras de cómo recaudar
fondos escolares para brindar oportunidades educativas. Nuestro
Carnaval de Otoño se llevó acabo y vimos como muchas familias
tuvieron un buen rato con sus hijos/as. Gracias a todos por venir y
apoyar a nuestros Leones de Loya. ¡Se les agradece mucho a
nuestra comunidad de Loya-Padres, Maestros y Alumnos/as!

Octubre es el mes Nacional de
Prevención del Acoso. Los Leones de
Loya han aprendido a reconocer lo que
es el acoso. Los estudiantes aprenderán
como tener confianza en sí mismos y
luchar contra el acoso. El personal de
Loya esta dedicado a mantener esta
escuela segura. Para lograr esto tenemos
que trabajar arduamente para prevenir
el acoso y enseñarles comportamiento
positivo. Queremos la ayuda de nuestros
padres. Juntos podemos mejorar nuestra
escuela. Aquí hay unos tips para seguir:
☛Enseñarles a ser amistosos y sociables
☛Alabar a los niños/as por buen
comportamiento
☛Enseñarles sobre cómo prevenir el
acoso
☛Estar en alerta si nota cambio de
comportamiento o carácter
☛Ayudar a todo niño/a que está

Eventos del otoño como el Día de Halloween o el Día de Cosecha
son muy divertidos. El uso de disfraces trae mucha diversión, al
igual que el ir a pedir dulces (Trick-or Treat) y comer dulces. Estos
eventos traen oportunidades de proveer bocadillos saludables,
actividad física y promover la seguridad. Les damos algunos tips
para que su festividad sea agradable y segura.
☛No salga al “Trick or Treat” solo. Vaya en grupo o acompañado por
un adulto.
☛Revise todos los dulces antes de comer. Coman solo los que vienen
empaquetados. No coma nada que sea cocinado por extraños.
☛Traiga una lámpara de noche a todo momento para poder ver a los
demás y lo puedan ver a usted. ¡Caminen! ¡No Corran de casa en
casa!
☛Cuando cruce, favor de ver hacia los dos lados de la carretera.

Mensaje de la Directora…
Estimados Padres,
Es importante que por favor maneje con precaución en nuestra
zona escolar. La seguridad de todos nuestros estudiantes es de
mucha importancia. Todos debemos estar alerta en el cruce de los
peatones. Trabajemos juntos por la seguridad de nuestros hijos.
Tenga en mente de que nuestras/os maestras/os están
desarrollándose como profesionales. Por motivos de
entrenamiento han tenido que estar fuera del salón. Tenemos un
año de muchas iniciativas a nivel del distrito y es importante que
nuestras maestras/os asistan a los entrenamientos. Gracias por su
cooperación.
Por último, recuerde de apoyar a su hijo/a en casa con las tareas
escolares. 5-10 minutos de tiempo de calidad significan el mundo
entero para sus hijos/as.
