“Some” se usa generalmente en frases afirmativas.

Mummy, I’m hungry!
Here is some milk, dear.
But I’m very hungry. I want some biscuits, too!
Of course, dear. - Here you are.
“Some” se usa también en frases interrogativas, cuando se ofrece
algo, y cuando se pide algo que puede ser cumplido.
- Would you like some wine, Mark?
- Yes, please. And can I have some bread too?
- Of course dear.

“Any” se usa generalmente en frases interrogativas y negativas.
- Have you any money to lend me?
(¿Tienes un poco dinero que prestarme?)
- Sorry. I haven’t any money.
(Lo siento, no tengo dinero.)

Cuando “any” se usa en frases afirmativas significa “cualquier -a”.
>
- When can I see you?
- Any ( cualquier ) day of the week, except on Sunday.

En español se puede decir, “No tengo dinero” o “No tengo ningún
dinero.”
En inglés “some” o “any” se tienen que usar siempre.
”I haven’t any money.”

Hemos dicho que en frases positivas se usa “some”.
Pero después de palabras con significado negativo como “hardly,
without, never, seldom etc.” se usa “any”.
>
There is hardly any milk in the house, we must buy some.
He managed to do his homework without any help.
“There is never any ending to Paris, and the memory of each
person who has lived in it differs from that of any ( cualquier )
other.

Después de “if” se usa también “any”.
>
I was wondering if there is any chance for me of getting a job
in London.

“No” tiene el mismo significado de “not any”, pero es más enfático.
>
I have no money.
I haven’t any money.
Al principio de una frase se tiene que usar “no”. No se puede
iniciar una frase con “not any”.
>
No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be
excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be
subjected to discrimination...
