PARENT NOTIFICATION OF ACCESS for ELLs TESTING
English Language Learner (ELL) students in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade
will participate in the administration of the ACCESS for ELLs® language proficiency
test. ACCESS provides a standardized measurement of academic language proficiency
for ELL students throughout the state of North Carolina, and in other states. With this
information, we will be able to monitor individual ELL student progress on an annual
basis.
There are four parts to the ACCESS test: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.
Your child will take these four parts in February.
You will receive a letter notifying you of your child’s performance of this test in May.
Please contact your Assistant Principal if you have any questions or concerns about the
testing sessions.
NOTIFICACIÓN PATERNAL DE PRUEBAS de ACCESS para Estudiantes de
Inglés como segunda lengua
Estudiantes del idioma inglés (ELLs) desde jardín de infancia al grado 12, participará en
la administración del ACCESS para ELLs que es una prueba de habilidad de lengua. El
ACCESS proporciona una medida estandarizada de la habilidad de lengua académica
para estudiantes de Inglés como segunda lengua en todas partes del estado de Carolina
del Norte, y en otros estados. Con esta información, podremos supervisar el progreso del
estudiante de inglés anualmente.
Hay cuatro partes a la prueba de ACCESS: Escucha, Hablar, Lectura, y Escritura. Su
niño tomará estas cuatro partes en febrero.
Usted recibirá una carta que le notifica de la interpretación de su niño de esta prueba en
mayo. Por favor póngase en contacto con su Asistente del Director si usted tiene alguna
pregunta o preocupaciones por las sesiones de pruebas.
