DEAR PARENTS: • Math Enrichment is a high quality summer program designed to enrich students’ academic abilities in a safe, fun-­‐filled environment. Our English/Math Combo program is designed to help students improve their math, language arts, and computer skills in order to better prepare them for their upcoming school year. These classes are for incoming Kindergarteners to incoming 8th graders. Students will be introduced to next year’s curriculum in Language Arts and Math (current Kindergartens will learn 1 grade, 1 nd

graders will learn 2 grade and 2 graders will learn 3 grade California Common Core Standards, etc.) In this class, students will spend half the day learning math concepts and the other half working on developing superior reading, writing and grammar skills. In addition, students will have the opportunity to fine-­‐tune their typing and other basic computer skills on Apple Computers. We will have a class set of iPad Air’s for the Kindergartners, First, Second and Third Graders to
share. Every student who attends the English/Math Combo class will come back next fall as a well-rounded student. • Middle School and High School Level Math Only Classes Pre-­‐Algebra, Common Core 8, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra II, Math Analysis (Current 8

graders can move up to the next math level if they earn an “A or B” this summer). These courses meet all the UC/CSU requirements for admission with the transcript provided by Math Enrichment. Estimados Padres: • Math Enrichment es un programa de verano de alta calidad diseñado para enriquecer la habilidad académica de los estudiantes en una manera de ambiente seguro y con mucha diversión. Nuestro programa combo de ingles/ matemáticas esta diseñado para mejorar las habilidades de estudiantes en las áreas de matemáticas, artes lingüísticas y destrezas de computadoras para prepararlos para el próximo año escolar. Estas clases son para alumnos que iniciarán en kínder hasta octavo grado. Incluso, ofrecemos clases de matemáticas para escuelas secundarias. • Todas las clases son enseñadas por maestros con credencial de California de distritos escolares locales. • Autorizadas por WASC (Asociación oeste de escuelas y universidades) Actividades emocionantes Viernes día de película (precio $15): Los alumnos tomaran el autobús al cine AMC para disfrutar de la película FINDIND DORY, viernes 24 de junio. Los alumnos de secundaria y preparatoria podrán elegir otra película. Paseo a medios de verano (precio $50): Nuestro paseo este verano será al parque de diversiones Great América el viernes 8 de julio. BANQUETE AL FINAL DEL VERANO (PRECIO $25): El banquete se llevará acabo en Dave & Buster’s en Milpitas el jueves 15 de julio. Animamos a todos los estudiantes y a sus familias a participar en el banquete de este año ya que estaremos celebrando la conclusión del programa. Todos los alumnos recibirán una tarjeta “Power Card” con valor de $15 dólares para jugar varios juegos y comer en el bufet. (alumnos de kínder aprenderán de nivel de 1er grado, alumnos de 1er grado aprenderán de nivel de 2do grado y alumnos de 2do grado aprenderán de nivel de 3ro grado según los estándares de California Common Core, etc.) En esta clase aprenderán la mitad del día conceptos de matemáticas y la otra mitad del día se enfocarán en desarrollar la lectura, escritura y destrezas de gramática. Cada alumno que participe regresará en el otoño un alumno más redondo. • Clases de solo matemáticas de nivel de secundaria Pre-­‐Algebra, Algebra y Geometría: Alumnos de 8vo grado pueden subir al próximo nivel de matemáticas si sacan una calificación de “A o B” durante el verano. Las clases tienen todos los requisitos de admisión para los sistemas de universidad UC/CSU. Su hijo/a reportarán estas clases al aplicar a las universidades UC/CSU con la transcripción disponible por parte de Math Enrichment.
