Dear Jesus, Divine Physician and Healer of the
sick, we turn to You in this time of illness.
O dearest comforter of the troubled, alleviate our
worry and sorrow with Your gentle love, and grant
us the grace and strength to accept this burden.
Dear God, we place our worries in Your hands.
We ask that You restore Your servant to health
again. Above all, grant us the grace to
acknowledge Your holy will and know that, whatsoever You do,
You do for the love of us. Amen.

To All Volunteers and Ministers of
Christ the King
We are very happy to have you as a volunteer in
our parish and your time is very valuable to us.
Your service to your parish is a beautiful way to
build the Kingdom of God on earth.
However, we all need to meet all the
Archdiocesan requirements regarding the
Protecting our Children Program.
These requirements are:
1.- VIRTUS Training Certification—
Every 4 years
2.- Fingerprinting— One time only in
the LA Archdiocese
3.- Signature of 2 forms— Yearly
a) Code of Conduct
b) Guideline for Adults Interacting
with Minors.
In order to continue to serve at Christ the King,
it is very important that the office has in file all
these documents for every volunteer because the
Archdiocese does yearly audits and you will not
be able to volunteer anymore if you are missing
any of them. If you have any question please call
the parish office and we will be glad to help you.
VIRTUS Training
We will have a Re-certification class for those
that took the certification class 2011 or earlier
On October 22nd
from 7:00 PM to 8:30PM
in English & in Spanish in separate
sections of the school hall.
Please call the Parish Office to register.
Remember to arrive early enough because no one
will be admitted after the doors close.

When secrets become dangerous
There is no better time of year to review the
important family rules that help to keep all
children safe. It takes just a few moments to
review with your children what to do in an
emergency, who the special and safe adults in
their life are, and the importance of not keeping
secrets. Some secrets, like a gift for a special
occasion, can be fun and safe to keep. Secrets
that hurt others, involve any kind of unsafe or
inappropriate touching or anything that bothers
a child – are secrets that are NOT safe to keep.
Help your child understand the difference. For a

Secrets,” email: [email protected].

artículo de VIRTUS® “Back to School:
correo electrónico a: [email protected].
NEXT WEEK
Copy-
Today in Scripture,
we read that St. Paul
asked the
Gentile Churches to
take up a collection
to support the Church in Jerusalem. Now we are
asked to reach out and support the young
churches throughout our world. Your prayers
and generous gifts to the Society for the
Propagation of the Faith in the collection next
week will help missionaries offer the poor of
these areas practical help as they share the
mercy of God. It will ensure the development of
local dioceses, and support the work of priests,
religious and lay leaders who serve in those on
the margins and in most need. Go out to the
whole world through your gift next week in the
second collection.

necesitado. Le agradecemos su generosidad.
