DISTRICT 200 BAND FESTIVAL

Dear Band Parents,
This year our band is very excited to be participating in the:
District 200 Band Festival on Monday, April 28th***
rehearsal field trip to Woodstock North High School from 9-9:30am (bus permission required- please sign the
form and return asap) The rehearsal is essential, and the only opportunity for the kids to practice together
before the evening concert!
evening concert at 7:00pm at WNHS – open to the public (free admission) – parents should drop their children
off at 6:40pm, students dressed nicely (no t-shirts or jeans please)- students will meet in the auxiliary gym.
BAND STUDENTS NEED TO BRING THEIR INSTRUMENTS, MUSIC, AND FOLDING MUSIC STAND(if possible)
to the rehearsal and the evening concert (please label the stand with the child’s name- masking tape works well).
If anyone is interested in purchasing a folding music stand, they are $13.20 each (check payable to Breber Music).
(please send note and money in as soon as possible if you would like to purchase a stand)
This will be a wonderful opportunity for our young musicians to see and perform with all of the other 5th grade band
members in the district, as well as see the middle and high school bands in action.
In order for your children to go to the high school for the rehearsal, we need a signed permission slip to ride the bus. We
will also need to know about any students who might be out of town on that day, so we can plan for our 160 piece 5th grade
band!!! If any parents are interested, I will be needing some parent helpers to check the students in for the evening
concert, and to sit with us after our group performs (monitor talking/behavior). The more adult bodies sitting with us, the
better!! Please check the area below if you are available to help out that evening (6:30pm- 8pm time commitment).
Thank you for the time and energy you have spent encouraging your children’s progress in band- you will be pleasantly
surprised at how much we have progressed as a group! PLEASE RETURN THE PERMISSION SLIP BY MONDAY, APRIL
21st TO YOUR CHILD’S CLASSROOM TEACHER (sooner if at all possible, so we know that the information got home to all
families). Parents interested in helping should expect a phone call that week date to go over the details.

Festival de Banda del Distrito 200 El Lunes 28 de Abril 2014
Viaje de ensayo a la Escuela Secundaria de Woodstock North de 9-9:30am (Permiso para el Autobús requerido)
El concierto de noche a las 7:00pm en la Escuela Secundaria de Woodstock North – abierta al publico (Admisión gratis) – Los
padres deben dejar a sus niños a las 6:40pm, los estudiantes deben de vestirse apropiadamente para este evento (no playera o
franelas ni pantalones de mezclillas)
Los estudiantes de la banda necesitan traer sus instrumentos, música y sus podium de música al ensayo y al concierto de la
noche (Todas las partes deben estar marcadas con el nombre de su niño- con cinta adhesiva del color café lo puede hacer).
Esta seria una Hermosa oportunidad para nuestros jóvenes músicos para ver y performar con todos los otros miembros de
la banda del quinto grado del distrito. Así como ver las bandas en acción de la escuela secundaria y de los intermedios.
Para que su niño pueda ir al ensayo de la a escuela secundaria, nosotros necesitamos este permiso para tomar el
autobús. Notros También necesitaremos saber aproximadamente cuantos estudiantes estarán afuera de la ciudad en ese
día. De esa manera, nosotros podemos planificar las 160 piezas para la banda del quinto grado. Si algún padre esta
interesado y disponible, estamos necesitando unos cuantos padres para que nos ayuden durante el viaje en el autobús y
ayudar a los estudiantes en la tarde. Por favor marque la área de abajo si usted esta disponible de ayudar en la mañana en
la tarde (sí se compromete 6:30-8pm).
Gracias por su tiempo y su energía de animar a sus niños a progresar en la banda-usted estará sorprendido y complacido
