Mayor Tomas Regalado, City Commissioners and Long Time Activist Dorothy Quintana Celebrate the Grand Opening of the New Dorothy Quintana Community Center at Roberto Clemente Park ‐Much awaited center offers a variety of amenities for city residents‐ On Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 10.30am, City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado, Commission Chairman Marc Sarnoff, Commissioners Wifredo (Willy) Gort and Richard Dunn, II, will join well‐known community activist, Dorothy Quintana, along with city administrators and staff for the official Grand Opening of the new Dorothy Quintana Community Center at Roberto Clemente Park, 101 NW 34 Street. The new center which boasts an arts and crafts room, reading room, fitness center, computer lab and banquet room is a state of the art facility which will target getting residents more involved in leisure activities. Beyond expanding on the number of children that will be able to enroll in the after school and camp programs, the staff at the center hope those parents, seniors and those who are looking for the perfect spot to get in shape or get online will take advantage of the amenities available at the facility. The brand new building is 9,125 sq ft and cost $ 2,218,561 to build funded through Homeland Defense Bond, Series 1, 2 and 3 dollars. Residents and media are invited out to the special event to tour the facility and discover this new Wynwood recreation destination. El Alcalde Tomás Regalado, Comisionados de la Ciudad y la Reconocida Activista Dorothy Quintana Celebran la Gran Apertura del Nuevo Centro Comunitario “Dorothy Quintana” en el Parque Roberto Clemente (Miami, FL 12 de octubre, 2010)—El miércoles, 13 de octubre, 2010 a las 10:30am, el Alcalde de la Ciudad de Miami Tomás Regalado, el Presidente de la Comisión Marc Sarnoff, el Comisionado Wifredo (Willy) Gort, el Comisionado Richard P. Dunn, II, junto a la reconocida activista comunitaria Dorothy Quintana, administradores de la ciudad y residentes del área celebrarán la Gran Apertura del nuevo Centro Comunitario “Dorothy Quintana” en el Parque Roberto Clemente, 101 NW 34 Calle. El nuevo centro que contiene un salón de artes manuales, salón de lectura, centro de ejercicios, laboratorio de computadoras, salón para banquetes, es una instalación de primera categoría que invita a los residentes a participar en actividades recreativas. Más allá de poder aumentar el número de niños que puedan inscribirse en el programa después de clases y en los campamentos de verano, el personal del centro espera que los padres, personas mayores y residentes que deseen ponerse en forma o visitar el Internet vengan a utilizar las amenidades que ofrece este centro. El nuevo edificio tiene 9,125 pies cuadrados de construcción a un costo de $2, 318, 561 dólares. Los fondos para su construcción provistos por la emisión de bonos municipales Homeland Defense Bond, Series 1, 2, 3. Los residentes y los medios de prensa quedan invitados para un recorrido especial de las nuevas instalaciones y descubrir este fantástico nuevo centro de recreación en Wynwood.
