Peter Semone
Peter Semone es licenciado en Negocios por el College of Arts and Sciences and Wharton
School de la Universidad de Pennsylvania y máster en Gestión de la Hospitalidad por la
Universidad de Cornell.
En la actualidad, Peter es consejero técnico oficial del Lao National Institute of Tourism
and Hospitality (Lanith), proyecto puesto en marcha con el apoyo de la cooperación
bilateral entre los gobiernos de Laos y de Luxemburgo. Anteriormente, era jefe de Área del
Mekong Tourism Development Project (MTDP) del Asian Development Bank (ADB) en
Vietnam.
Ha sido, ademas, vicepresidente del Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) donde dirigió las oficinas
regionales en Europa, América, el Pacífico y China ofreciendo liderazgo estratégico en diversas iniciativas
regionales y globales. En este periodo, Peter fue fundamental en la respuesta al bombardeo de Bali, el
SARS y las crisis del tsunami.
Actualmente, es miembro del Comité Ejecutivo y presidente de la Comisión de Educación y Formación del
Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA).
Peter Semone és llicenciat en Negocis pel College of Arts and Sciences and Wharton School de la

En l'actualitat, Peter és conseller tècnic oficial del Lao National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality
(Lanith), projecte posat en marxa amb el suport de la cooperació bilateral entre els governs de Laos i de
Luxemburg. Anteriorment, era cap d'Àrea del Mekong Tourism Development Project (MTDP) de l'Asian
Development Bank (ADB) al Vietnam.
Ha estat, a més, vicepresident del Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) on va dirigir les oficines
regionals a Europa, Amèrica, el Pacífic i la Xina oferint lideratge estratègic en diverses iniciatives regionals
i globals. En aquest període, Peter va ser fonamental en la resposta al bombardeig de Bali el, SARS i les
crisis del tsunami.
Actualment, és membre del Comitè Executiu i president de la Comissió d'Educació i Formació del Pacific
Àsia Travel Association (PATA).
Peter holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s College of Arts and Sciences
and Wharton School of Business and a master’s degree from Cornell University’s School of Hospitality
Management.
Peter Semone currently serves as Chief Technical Advisor of the Lao National Institute of Tourism and
Hospitality (Lanith), a Project being implemented under the auspices of bilateral cooperation between the
Governments of Laos and Luxembourg. Prior to his current engagement, Peter served as Team Leader of
the Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded Mekong Tourism Development Project (MTDP) in Vietnam
Peter has served as Vice President of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) where he was
responsible for directing PATA's regional offices in Europe, the Americas, the Pacific and China and
providing strategic leadership to PATA's many regional and global initiatives. During his tenure at PATA,
Peter was instrumental in responding to the Bali Bomb, SARS and Tsunami crises and in nurturing
cooperation among the seven Greater Mekong Sub-region destinations.
Currently, Peter serves on the PATA Executive Board and is the Chairman of the Education and Training
Committee.
