SE REALIZÓ CON ÉXITO EL EVENTO “EMPRESAS B: UN NUEVO MODELO DE NEGOCIO
SUSTENTABLE”, ORGANIZADO POR ESTUDIO BECCAR VARELA Y SISTEMA B
24 de junio 2016. El 16 de junio se llevó a cabo en el Auditorio del Estudio Beccar Varela el
desayuno de actualización: “Empresas B: Un nuevo modelo de negocio sustentable”. Pedro
Tarak, co-fundador de Sistema B Internacional, presentó Sistema B a nivel global y realizó un
recuento de las principales acciones que se están realizando, los planes a futuro y las
herramientas que ofrecen para “medir lo que importa”.
Los asistentes también tuvieron la
posibilidad de conocer el caso de Tonka S.A. Gas Controls. Pedro Freidrich, titular de la empresa,
contó su experiencia sobre el proceso de decisión y transformación hacia una Empresa B, y los
desafíos y oportunidades que le brinda esta nueva forma de hacer negocios.
Finalmente, Fernanda Mierez y Constanza Connolly (socia y abogada senior de Estudio Beccar
Varela respectivamente), presentaron, en nombre del Grupo Jurídico B, el anteproyecto de ley de
Sociedades de Beneficio e Interés Colectivo (BIC). Ambas expusieron los principales
fundamentos, características y ventajas de esta nueva figura societaria, que apunta a colaborar
en la resolución de necesidades colectivas desde los privados buscando integrar la triple
perspectiva: la sustentabilidad económica, social y ambiental.
El evento contó con más de cien asistentes, lo que demuestra el interés que despierta esta
temática y particularmente compromete al Estudio Beccar Varela a redoblar los esfuerzos en esta
línea de trabajo que promueve la innovación desde el derecho.

ESTUDIO BECCAR VARELA AND SISTEMA B, DREW MORE THAN ONE HUNDRED
PEOPLE.
June 24th, 2016. On June 16, the event “B Corp: a new sustainable business model” was held in
the Estudio Beccar Varela Auditorium. Pedro Tarak, co-founder of Sistema B Internacional,
presented Sistema B globally and talked about the main actions that are being taken, future plans
and tools that they offer to "measure what matters". Attendees also had the opportunity to hear the
case of Tonka S.A. Gas Controls. Pedro Freidrich, head of the company, recounted his experience
in the decision-making process and transformation to a B Corporation, and challenges and
opportunities offered by this new way of doing business.
Finally, Fernanda Mierez and Constanza Connolly (partner and senior lawyer of Estudio Beccar
Varela respectively) presented, on behalf of Grupo Jurídico B, the Collective Benefit and Interest
Companies bill (anteproyecto de ley de Sociedades de Beneficio e Interés Colectivo BIC in
Spanish). They outlined the main foundations, features and advantages of this new form of
company, which aims to assist in the resolution of collective needs from private business seeking
to integrate a triple perspective: economic, social and environmental sustainability.
The event was attended by more than a hundred people, demonstrating the interest in this subject
and particularly engaging Estudio Beccar Varela to redouble efforts in this line of work that
encourages innovation through law.
