Middle School SRC Policy
The Student Responsibility Center (SRC) is a room
designated for middle school students who have had
a behavior concern during class time. Students are
sent to the SRC to develop a responsibility plan for
re-entry into class. We have been looking at how
we can improve our SRC policy and have made
some minor changes to our current SRC plan. The
SRC policy and procedures can be found on our
website at www.hollandpublicschools.org.
Congratulations to Mrs. Allgaier’s Class for collecting the
most Box tops during the first semester. Her class
received a prize and free popcorn. Please continue to
send Boxtops throughout the year. We will also be
collecting Campbells Soup Labels throughout the
remainder of the year. Please send them in with your
student!
DUTCH COSTUME RESAL E
Tulip Time is right around the corner!
To participate in the parades and
Dutch Dance, your student will need a
Dutch costume.
The Holland Area Newcomers’ annual
Dutch Costume Resale will be held at
the Civic Center in downtown Holland. It is the perfect place
to find a new or used costume at a great price. Last year
there were over 400 new and gently costumes to choose
from! For 57 years the Holland Area Newcomers have
cheerfully volunteered their time to provide the Dutch
Costume Resale as a service to the community. Costume
drop offs, resale, and pick up times are as follows:

All events will be held at the Holland Civic Center located at
150 W. 8th Street in downtown Holland. Costumes should be
freshly laundered and on a wire hanger. There is a handling
fee of $5.00 per costume. Costumes and checks not picked
up on Thursday will be donated. For more information,

March is Reading Month at East K-8!
What a fun and busy month March is shaping up to be! Some of the activities we have planned for Reading Month are:
• Book Swap! Dates will be announced for students to bring in gently used books to be swapped with other students.
• Classroom Door décor! Each hallway at East K-8 will represent a genre and classroom doors will be decorated with a
theme from a favorite book. Students will have fun “book walks” throughout the month to check out the doors and learn
more about the genres.
• Star Readers Program! Students will receive information on reading each week and earning a “Star Reader” star to take
home and place in their front window.

Reglas del SRC en la Secundaria
El Centro de Responsabilidad Estudiantil o SRC en Ingles es
un salón designado para los alumnos que han tenido mal
comportamiento durante el tiempo de clase. A los alumnos se
les manda a SRC para que desarrollen un plan responsable y
puedan regresar a su clase. Nosotros hemos estado analizando
como mejorar nuestras reglas de SRC y tenemos algunos
cambios al plan actual. Las reglas de SRC y el procedimiento
de este pueden ser encontrados en nuestro sitio en el web
www.hollandpublicschools.org. Si usted no tiene computadora
por favor lléneme y yo se lo explico.
Felicitaciones a la clase de Mrs. Allgaier por coleccionar la
cantidad más grande de Boxtops durante el primer semestre.
Su clase recibió un premio y palomitas gratis. Por favor
continúe enviando Boxtops todo el año. También colectamos
Campbells Soup Labels durante el resto del año escolar. Por
favor envíelos con sus hijos.

La venta de disfraces del Holland Area Newcomers’ tendrá lugar
en el Civic Center en el centro de Holland. Es el lugar perfecto
para encontrar un disfraz de uso o nuevo a un buen precio. El
año pasado hubieron mas de 400 disfraces nuevos y usados por
venta! Por 57 año el Holland Area Newcomers han servido de
voluntarios para proveer la venta de cómo servicio para la
comunidad. Si quiere usted vender un disfraz o comprar uno
estas son las fechas y las horas.

disfraces deben de estar lavados y colgados en un perchero de
hierro. El costo es $5.00 por disfraz. Los cheques y difrrases no

Marzo es el Mes de la Lectura!
Marzo es un mes muy ocupado y divertido. Aquí están algunas de las actividades que hemos planeado para el mes de la
lectura:
• Intercambio de libros! Se anunciara la fecha para que los alumnos traigan libros usados que ellos quieran intercambiar por
otros libros.
• Decoración de clases! Cada pasillo de East K-8 representara un genero diferente de literatura y las puertas de las clases
serán decoradas con temas de diferentes libros. Los alumnos tomaran caminatas divertidas todo el mes fijándose en las
puertas y reconociendo los diferentes géneros.
• Programa Alumnos Estrellas! Los alumnos leerán todas las semanas y recibirán “Alumnos Estrellas” una estrella para
poner en la ventana de sus clases.
