Berenda School Site Council
The Berenda School Site Council convened in a regular meeting at Berenda School on
Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 2:55 p.m.
1. Roll Call and Call to Order
Present: Carsten Christiansen, Donna Grant, Mary Bispham, Scott Townsend, Laura
Fabela, Victoria Cantu, Pat Rozek, Janelle Grantham, and Sandy Jones.
Absent: Gracie Perez and Liz Carmona.
Visitors: Nayeli Sandoval.
Mary Bispham called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. Mr. Christiansen welcomed
everyone present and asked everyone to sign in.
2. Adoption of the Agenda
The Agenda was read. Mary Bispham asked for a motion to adopt the Agenda. Janelle
Grantham made a motion to adopt the Agenda as read. Donna Grant seconded the
motion and it was unanimously carried. A quorum was established.
3. Approval of Minutes
The minutes from the September 22, 2015 meeting were read. Janelle Grantham made a
motion to approve the minutes as read. Pat Rozek seconded the motion and it was
unanimously carried.
4. New Business
Mr. Christiansen explained the district is looking at paying for teacher and student
computer devices, thus freeing up site funds. He discussed moving some funds from
technology into books and supplies. Mr. Christiansen requested approval of the updated
budget plan. Mary Bispham made a motion to approve the proposed changes. Janelle
Grantham seconded the motion and it was unanimously carried.
Mr. Christiansen presented the Safety Plan for the annual review and requested approval
per Ed Code 32280. Victoria Cantu made a motion to approve the Safety Plan as
presented. Donna Grant seconded the motion and it was unanimously carried.
5. Reports
Nayeli Sandoval presented information on the Berenda Afterschool Program. The
program is providing great opportunities for our students. There are 146 students
enrolled and many students on the waiting list. They have 9 staff members.
Mr. Christiansen presented the Official CELDT results. 12 students passed the CELDT
test and they now need to take the MUSD Mirror test to see if they can be reclassified.
24 students passed the CEDLT test and the Mirror test as well. These students just need
to meet the GPA criteria and they will be reclassified as RFEP.
Mary Bispham updated the Council on the Parent Advisory Committee’s last meeting.
They want cameras installed on all busses. They would like 2 representatives from each
school, 1 main and 1 backup, so there will always be representation from each school at
their meetings. The next PAC meeting will be March 16, 2016.
6. Next Meeting
The next School Site Council Meeting is tentatively set for March 15, 2016, in room 39
@ 2:55 p.m.
7. Adjournment
Scott Townsend made a motion to adjourn the Berenda School Site Council Meeting.
Janelle Grantham seconded the motion and it was unanimously carried. The meeting was
adjourned at 3:45 p.m.

El Consejo Local Berenda se reunió en una sesión ordinaria en la Escuela Berenda el
martes 2 de febrero de, 2016 a 14:55
1. Lista de Participantes y Llamada al orden
Presentar: Carsten Christiansen, Donna Grant, María Bispham, Scott Townsend, Laura
Fabela, Victoria Cantu, Pat Rozek, Janelle Grantham, y Sandy Jones.
Ausentes: Gracie Pérez y Liz Carmona.

María Bispham llamó la reunión al orden a las 3:00 p.m. el Sr. Christiansen dio la
bienvenida a todos los presentes y pidió a todos que iniciar sesión.
2. Aprobación del programa
El orden del día se leyó. María Bispham pidió una moción para aprobar el orden del día.
Janelle Grantham hizo una moción para aprobar el orden del día sin modificaciones.
Donna subvención apoyó la moción y fue aprobada por unanimidad. Se estableció un
quórum.
3. Aprobación del Acta
Se leyeron los minutos de la edición de septiembre 22 de, el año 2015 reunión. Janelle
Grantham hizo una moción para aprobar el acta sin modificaciones. Pat Rozek apoyó la
moción y fue aprobada por unanimidad.
4. Nuevos Negocios
El Sr. Christiansen explica el distrito está mirando a pagar por los dispositivos
informáticos del profesor y estudiante, liberando así fondos sitio. Se refirió a mover
algunos fondos de la tecnología en los libros y materiales de construcción. El Sr.
Christiansen solicitó la aprobación del plan de presupuesto actualizado. María Bispham
hizo una moción para aprobar los cambios que se presenta. Janelle Grantham apoyó la
moción y fue aprobada por unanimidad.
El Sr. Christiansen presentó el Plan de Seguridad para la revisión anual y solicita la
aprobación por el Código de Educación 32280. Victoria Cantu hizo una moción para
aprobar el plan de seguridad tal como se presenta. Donna subvención apoyó la moción y
fue aprobada por unanimidad.
5. Informes
Nayeli Sandoval presentó información sobre el programa después de clases Berenda. El
programa está proporcionando grandes oportunidades para nuestros estudiantes. Hay 146
estudiantes matriculados y muchos estudiantes en lista de espera. Tienen 9 miembros del
personal.
El Sr. Christiansen presentó los resultados oficiales del CELDT. 12 estudiantes pasaron la
prueba CELDT y ahora tienen que tomar el examen de MUSD espejo para ver si pueden
ser reclasificados. 24 estudiantes pasaron la prueba CEDLT y la prueba del espejo
también. Estos estudiantes sólo tienen que cumplir con los criterios de GPA y serán
reclasificados como RFEP.
María Bispham informado al Consejo sobre la última reunión del Comité Asesor de
Padres. Ellos quieren cámaras instaladas en todos los autobuses. A ellos les gustaría 2
representantes de cada escuela, 1 principal y 1 copia de seguridad, por lo que siempre
habrá representación de cada escuela en sus reuniones. La próxima reunión del PAC será
el 16 de marzo 2016.
6. Próxima reunión
La próxima reunión del Consejo Local se establece provisionalmente el 15 de marzo,
2016, en la sala 39 @ 14:55
7. Clausura
Scott Townsend hizo una moción para terminar la reunión Berenda Consejo Escolar.
Janelle Grantham apoyó la moción y fue aprobada por unanimidad. La reunión concluyó
a las 15:45
