Proporcionar a los asistentes la oportunidad de mejorar sus habilidades conversacionales,
formales e informales, en inglés, de manera que puedan afianzar su discurso y adquirir
nuevas estructuras y vocabulario.

This course will prepare students for international travel, work, or study abroad and when
working with non-Colombians in Colombia. Students will analyze etiquette, education,
politics, and religion through movies, magazines, music, art, and television from around the
world to create universal strategies on how to interact with any culture with ease. Students
will develop an understanding that individuals throughout the world share many similarities
and differences, which should be celebrated as part of the human experience. It is the first
of four courses required to receive the Minor in English and Intercultural Studies degree—an
impressive qualification designed to provide an advantage in the competitive markets for
jobs, scholarships, and graduate-level study. It is offered to students with an English level 7
or 6 (with an average grade of 3.5 in English).

This course will give students a chance to explore and discover the five continents and its
traditions and customs. Students will travel around the world through movies, magazines,
articles, images and the variety of resources offered by National Geographic since its origins.
Students will contribute to the exploration of religion, culture, traditions, rituals and beliefs
around the world from their own perspectives and perceptions. This course aims at providing
students with the chance of taking a trip in each class and getting to know wonderful places
and their history, myths and legends. The course will be divided into two terms; the first term
will be devoted to exploring customs and traditions in America and Europe. The second term
will be devoted to exploring customs and traditions in Asia and Africa.

This interdisciplinary course is designed to help students to discover and develop the
personal and business attributes needed to become a successful entrepreneur. The core of
the course focuses on the discovery and understanding of entrepreneurial attitudes and
behaviors in different industries, while focusing on one of the most important competences
needed in the business world today: service. The student will begin to understand the
competences required to be an entrepreneur through case studies, creative problem solving
and exercises aimed at self-development. Students will identify, discuss and grow an idea
about a business they might one day start. They will have an opportunity to participate in the
business planning process.
