Heart Rate Variability (HRV) as Early Marker

Organs are coupled among themselves. Uncoupling could lead to MODS. Our goal was to detect if HRV
values measured in 39 septic patients without MODS, allowed the prediction of the future development of this
syndrome. The table shows the HRV values according to posterior evolution of patients.
LF was the best predictor of MODS (ROC curves cutoff point: 18 m 2 ). This index may be an early marker of
the risk for MODS development.
