Maduro calls to preserve civic-military unity achieved by Chavez Caracas, 03 Abr. AVN.- Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro emphasized Wednesday the unity achieved by the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chavez, between people and their Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB). Prior a meeting with a Russian delegation, in Andean state of Tachira, Maduro called on members of the military institution to keep united. "Civic-military unity is one of the greatest works that our supreme Commander, Hugo Chavez, built with his moral, his example, his leadership, discipline and historic, Bolivarian perspective," said Maduro at his arrival of Tachira state, aired live in local television. In governments of the fourth Republic (1958-1998), Maduro recalled, soldiers "were shut up (in headquarters) and our people in another side. We had different paths, though we were the same in essence, children of Liberator (Simon Bolivar)." He recalled that Venezuela has only one destiny and it is the building of an independent and socialist homeland. "We feel proud and happy every time we visit a military parade with people's children and we tell them: Firearms of the Republic are in good hands." President Nicolas Maduro will hold a meeting in Tachira state with a Russian delegation to review cooperation agreements signed between Caracas and Moscow in different matters.
