DUAL LANGUAGE PROGRAM
Starting in Kindergarten, the Two-Way Dual Language program consists of classrooms that incorporate Spanish and English speakers for instruction
that is presented 50% in Spanish and 50% in English. This allows children to learn English and Spanish in a natural way by working cooperatively with
language partners in the classroom. Students are
partnered with a classmate who is dominant in the
opposite language. This enables students to work
together during a lesson that is taught in their primary language. This approach builds confidence and
self-esteem, teaches cooperation and responsibility,
and greatly enhances communication and problem
solving skills. 2.

LA INMERSION DOBLE, UN
PROGRAMA DE LENGUAJE DUAL
Empezando en Kinder, el programa de Lenguaje Dual es de doble inmersión. El aula consiste
de alumnos que hablan español y de alumnos
que hablan inglés y reciben instrucción el 50%
del tiempo en español y el 50% del tiempo en
inglés. De esta manera su hijo aprenderá el
inglés y el español en una manera natural
cooperando con compañeros de lenguaje en el
salón. Los alumnos forman parejas con niños
que dominan el idioma opuesto. Esto les permite ayudarse mutuamente cuando la lección
es presentada en el idioma que cada niño domina. Este formato ayuda a enseñar autoestima positiva y confianza, les enseña a cooperar, ser responsables, y desarrolla las destrezas
de la comunicación y del razonamiento.
