The Pheasant Ridge PBIS system includes four main components: expectations, incentives and rewards,
consequences and celebrations.
Our ​expectations​ are summed up in our PBIS pledge: “Be safe. Be respectful. Be here and Be ready.”
Our staff spends time during the first week of school teaching students what that means through
expectations for behavior in all areas of our school: ​classrooms and other instructional areas, the
bathrooms, the playground, the lunchroom, the hallway and the areas for arrival and dismissal
​
. These
specific expectations are listed on the next several pages. The expectations are reviewed throughout the
school year, are posted throughout the building and are re-taught after long breaks in the school calendar.
The PBIS program includes ​rewards​ for our students. They receive ​Golden Tickets​ when a staff member
notices they are following our expectations and behaving properly at school. Students collect their
Golden Tickets and get to spend them at the end of each week. They have choices to spend their Golden
Tickets within their classroom. Reward items will vary from classroom to classroom.
The PBIS program also includes all-school ​celebrations.​ These celebrations are held on a regular basis to
celebrate students’ efforts to meet expectations. The type of celebration varies from time to time.
Consequences: When student experience difficulty with following our expectations we have the following
procedures that are put into place to ensure their success within our school setting. When a student does
not follow the rules/expectations he or she is given informal verbal reminders. When a verbal reminder
does not work, staff members will give a student a Minor. Minors are formal reminders accompanied by
paperwork that needs to be signed by the teacher, student, and parent. This ensures that everyone has
been informed and that we are all taking the proper steps to provide success for the student. If a student
receives three minors, he or she will automatically get a Major on the next write up.
A Major, also called an Office Discipline Referral, requires the student to visit the principal or assistant
principal’s office. The principal or assistant principal will talk with the student and get a complete picture
of the situation before determining what result is taken for the incident involved. Both the parents and the
teacher will be notified of the result.
There are instances where majors do not require three minors to be given. If there is an incident that lend
itself to a situation that is, but not limited to, lying, cheating, disrespect, stealing, vandalism, fighting,
threatening, possession of any weapons at school will result in a major. The principal or assistant
principal will talk with the student and get a complete picture of the situation before determining what
results is taken for the incident involved. Both the parents and teacher will be notified of the result. The
student will be provided the necessary steps for success moving forward from the incident.
Students who receive more than one major will receive direct help in improving their behavior at school.
Parents are often involved in providing that help.
At Pheasant Ridge Primary School we are very proud of our students and the effort they put into learning
along with our behavioral expectations! We celebrate the success of our entire school as well as
individual students who work hard to improve their behavior and reach academic goals. This year we will
hold special activities to celebrate our successes together on a regular basis!

Nuestras ​expectativas​ se resumen en nuestro compromiso al programa PBIS: "Ser precavido. Ser respetuoso. Estar
Presente y Preparado." Nuestro equipo de maestros pasa tiempo durante la primera semana de escuela explicando lo
que eso significa a través de expectativas de comportamiento en todas las áreas de nuestra escuela: Salones y otras
áreas de instrucción, los baños, el patio de recreo, el comedor, el pasillo y las zonas de llegada y de salida. Estas
expectativas en específió se enumeran en las siguientes páginas. Las expectativas son revisadas durante el año
escolar, se publican en todo el edificio y son re-enseñados después de los descansos largos en el calendario escolar.
El programa PBIS incluye ​recompensas ​para nuestros estudiantes. Ellos reciben ​boletos de oro​ cuando un miembro
del personal nota que están siguiendo nuestras expectativas y comportarse adecuadamente en la escuela. Los
estudiantes recogen sus boletos de oro y tienen la oportunidad de usarlos al final de cada semana. Tienen opciones
de usar sus boletos de oro dentro de su clase. Los artículos de recompensa variarán de una clase a otra.
El programa PBIS incluye también las ​celebraciones​ del año escolar. Estas celebraciones se llevan a cabo al final de
cada mes para celebrar el esfuerzo de los estudiantes que cumplen con las expectativas. El tipo de celebración varía
de mes a mes.
Consecuencias: Cuando los estudiantes tienen dificultad siguiendo nuestras expectativas que tenemos los siguientes
procedimientos que se ponen en marcha para garantizar su éxito dentro de nuestro entorno escolar. Cuando un
estudiante no sigue las reglas / expectativas que él o ella se le da recordatorios verbales informales. Cuando un
recordatorio verbal no funciona, los miembros del personal darán un estudiante un menor de edad. Los menores son
recordatorios formales acompañadas de la documentación que debe ser firmado por el maestro, el estudiante y los
padres. Esto asegura que todo el mundo ha sido informado y que todos estamos tomando las medidas apropiadas
para proporcionar el éxito para el estudiante. Si un estudiante recibe tres menores de edad, él o ella recibirá
automáticamente un Major en la siguiente escritura arriba.
El ‘major’ un mayor, también llamado Reporte de Disciplina, requiere que el estudiante vaya a la oficina de la
directora o sub-director. La directora o subdirector hablará con el estudiante y de la situación antes de determinar
una consecuencia de la conducta que causó el problema. Los padres y el maestro serán notificados de la
consecuencia.
Hay casos en los mayores no requieren tres menores de edad que debe darse. Si hay un incidente que se presta a una
situación que es, pero no limitado a, la mentira, el engaño, la falta de respeto, el robo, vandalismo, peleas, amenazas,
posesión de toda arma en la escuela resultará en un major. El director o subdirector hablará con el estudiante y
obtener una imagen completa de la situación antes de determinar qué resultados se toma por el incidente en cuestión.
Tanto los padres y los maestros serán notificados del resultado. El estudiante recibirá las medidas necesarias para el
éxito en movimiento hacia adelante desde el incidente.
Los estudiantes que reciben más de un ‘major’ recibirán ayuda directa para mejorar su comportamiento en la
escuela. Los padres están a menudo involucrados en esa ayuda.
