Student Spotlight
Seventh grader Morgan’s strong work ethic in school
is paying off. Her impressive academic achievements
at WJHS&A are admired by both teachers and staff. “I
study real hard. It’s not something that comes naturally
because these classes are not easy,” shared Morgan.
Yet Morgan’s study skills continue to yield outstanding
success in school, which means she is building a foundation to help reach her ultimate dream of becoming a
lawyer. To reach this goal, Morgan wisely looks for a
balance of hard work and fun. “I have to get good
grades, be responsible, know what’s the right thing to
do and what’s the wrong thing to do. I have to know when

I should be serious and when I can play,” she explained.
Outside of school Morgan plays basketball, occasionally jumps double dutch rope with
her sister, Ashli, and she loves to read suspenseful mystery books.
Her advice to incoming Washington students is simple. “When you come to Washington, don’t take it as a joke. Don’t argue with the teachers. Mr. Latting is real serious
about getting our education, growing up and being somebody, and not just sitting in our
houses playing video games ….know that your education is something to be serious
about,” shared Morgan.
Listening to Morgan’s advice will mean a terrific fourth quarter for many students.

2014-2015 STUDENT REGISTRATION
Online Student Pre-Registration is now available. We encourage you to pre-register
your children for the 2014-2015 school year by visiting our website www.joliet86.org
and clicking on 2014-2015 Student Registration. In order to utilize the online preregistration process, you must have a District 86 Parent Portal account. If you need to
create a Parent Portal account, please stop by our school office. Online pre-registration
is currently only available in English. Pre-printed registration forms in Spanish will be
mailed home.
Pre-registering your children online will save you a lot of time. Once you submit the
online pre-registration forms, you must stop by our school office and bring your proofs of
residency between the hours of 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Registration is completed at our school when you provide your proofs of residency. For detailed

Enfoque de Estudiante
Morgan, estudiante de séptimo grado, tiene una
fuerte ética de trabajo en la escuela y está recibiendo
sus frutos. Sus impresionantes logros académicos en
WJHS & A son admirados por los profesores y el personal. "Estudio muy duro. No es algo que viene naturalmente, porque estas clases no son fáciles," compartió Morgan. Sin embargo, las técnicas de estudio de
Morgan continúan produciendo gran éxito en la escuela, lo que significa que es la construcción de una fundación para ayudar a alcanzar su máximo sueño de
convertirse en abogada. Para alcanzar este objetivo,
Morgan sabiamente mantiene el equilibrio entre el traMorgan
bajo y la diversión. "Tengo que sacar buenas notas, ser
responsable, saber qué es lo que hay que hacer y lo que no debo hacer. Tengo que
saber cuando estar sería y cuando puedo jugar," explicó. Fuera de la escuela Morgan
juega baloncesto, de vez en cuando salta cuerda doble con su hermana, Ashli, y ella le
encanta leer libros de misterio y suspenso.
Su consejo para los estudiantes de Washington entrantes es simple. "Cuando se
llega a Washington, no lo tome como una broma. No discuta con los maestros. El Sr.
Latting toma muy en serio nuestra educación, desarrollar y llegar a ser alguien, y no
sólo de estar en nuestras casas jugando videojuegos....sabe que su educación es algo
para tomar en serio," Morgan compartió.
Escuchando los consejos de Morgan significará un cuarto trimestre excelente para
muchos estudiantes. Gracias Morgan, y mucha suerte en octavo grado!

proceso de pre-registro en internet necesita una cuenta de Padres para el Portal del
Distrito 86. Si tienen que crear una cuenta para el Portal, por favor pase por nuestra
oficina escolar. El pre-registro en internet sólo está disponible en inglés. Los formularios pre-impresos de inscripción en español serán enviados a casa.
El pre-registro de sus hijos en el internet le ahorrará mucho tiempo. Una vez que presente los formularios de inscripción en el internet, tiene que venir a nuestra oficina y
traer sus pruebas de residencia entre las horas 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. de lunes a viernes. La registración se termina en nuestra escuela cuando proporciona sus pruebas de
