Dr. Luis I. Argüero [email protected] Born in Buenos Aires, Doctor Argüero obtained a Licenciatura en Ciencias de la Comunicación from Universidad de Buenos Aires in 2003. After working for Argentina´s government and for a World Bank´s program in the early 2000´s, he was granted a scholarship by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Japan and moved to Hiroshima in 2004 where he conducted research on postwar economic recovery. In 2007, he obtained a Masters in Economics. His specialization in regional economics got him to work at the Center for Research on Regional Economic Systems of Hiroshima. He has written papers on regional systems of innovation and published them in well known journals (e.g. The Economic Studies and Studies on Regional Economics). His work was presented at international conferences in Japan, US and Australia. In 2010, he was awarded a PhD in Economics from Hiroshima University and returned to Argentina, where he has been teaching “Organization of Regional Economies” at Universidad de Belgrano while working as a consultant for United Nations and local governments. His academic interests lie in the fields of regional development, post crisis recovery and knowledge creation.
