Greetings Manzanita Families:
The California Standards Tests (CSTs) measure the achievement of California content standards in
English-language arts, mathematics, science, and history-social science. These tests are given in grades
two through eleven. From May 2 to May 13, all three grades will be completing this year’s tests.
Please help us make this a great week by:
• encouraging your student before and after each test day
• making sure they have had enough sleep
• helping them keep a positive mind-set
It is very important that all students take part in the STAR Program. Each school district and school
must have at least 95 percent of its students participate in statewide assessments in order to meet
federal accountability requirements.
Test results for both the CSTs and CAT/6 Survey will be sent to each student’s home address in one
STAR Student Report within 20 days after the school district has received the reports. Individual
results are confidential and will be shared only with parents or guardians and the student’s teacher(s).
Please keep these reports for use when talking to teacher(s) about ways to support your student’s
learning.

Saludos Familias de Manzanita,
Los Estandares de los examenes del Estado de California (CST) miden el exito del contenido
estandarizado en el arte de lenguaje de Ingles, matematicas, ciencias e historia de las ciencias sociales.
Estos examenes son dados a los grados de 2o. a 11vo. Del 2 de Mayo al 13, los tres grados haran los
examenes este ano.
Por favor ayudenos a que sea una gran semana:
• dandole animos a su estudiante antes y despues del examen
• asegurandose de que haya dormido bien
• ayudandolo a mantener una mente positiva
Es muy importante que todos los estudiantes tomen parte en el Programa STAR. Cada distrito escolar
y cada escuela debe tener por lo menos un 95% de sus estudiantes participando en las evaluaciones a
nivel estatal para poder llenar los requisitos de participacion federal.
Los resultados de ambos examenes CST y CAT/6 seran enviados por correo a las casas de cada
estudiante en un solo Reporte del Estudiante STAR dentro de los 20 dias despues de que el distrito
escolar haya recibido los reportes. Los Resultados Individuales son confidenciales y seran compartidos
solamente con los padres o tutores legales de los estudiantes y sus profesores. Por favor guarde estos
reportes para usarlos cuando hable con los maestros acerca de las maneras de apoyar a su estudiante en
su aprendizaje.
