Marisa:
Did you hear about the robbery the other day?
Raul:
No, what happened?
Marisa:
Well, this couple was walking to the mailbox on the corner when
a thief stopped them.
Raul:
Oh, no!!
Marisa:
Yes!! They didn't have any money with them, so the thief was
going to make them get money out of the cash machine across
the street. But just as they were crossing the street, the police
drove by.
Raul:
What happened then?
Marisa:
The robber panicked when he saw the police, so he ran off.
Raul:
He didn't escape, did he?
Marisa:
Unfortunately, he did. I hope he gets caught soon.
Raul:
Me, too.
Translation
Un robo.
Marisa:
¿Escuchaste sobre el robo del otro día?
Raul:
No, ¿qué pasó?
Marisa:
Bueno, una pareja iba caminando hacia el correo de la esquina
cuando un ladrón los detuvo.
Raul:
Oh, no!!
Marisa:
Así es!! No llevaban dinero consigo así que el ladrón los iba a llevar a
sacar dinero del cajero automático cruzando la calle. Pero, justo
cuando estaban cruzando la calle, llegó la policía en el patrullero.
Raul:
¿Qué pasó entonces?
Marisa:
El asaltante se aterró cuando vio a la policía y se dio a la fuga.
Raul:
No huyó, ¿verdad?
Marisa:
Lamentablemente, sí. Espero que lo capturen pronto.
Raul:
También yo.
