These groups will provide men and
women living with any type of cancer the
opportunity to share their wisdom and
firsthand experiences.
Cancer Transitions:
Moving Beyond Treatment
A program of education and support for men
and women who have finished treatment
within the last 2 years. This monthly posttreatment support group will provide an
opportunity to connect with other group
members who have completed their cancer
treatment to discuss the adjustments and
challenges to life after treatment.
Living with Loss Monthly Group
.Share your experiences of the grieving
process by connecting with other
members who have experienced the loss
of a loved one due to cancer.

Moving For Life: Gentle Aerobics
Monday, April 4, 2016; 10:00am-11:30am
Facilitator: Dana Davison, RSMT/RSME
Coney Island Hospital
Regain joy of movement and sense of well-being
through Moving For Life: Gentle Aerobics. This
exercise program combines music and dance to help
alleviate side-effects associated with cancer treatment
and post-treatment such as fatigue, weight changes,
lymphedema and joint or bone pain.
Jin Shin Jyutsu®

Facilitator: Teri Meissner
Queens Cancer Center
Teri Meissner, a certified Jin Shin Jyutsu®
Practitioner, will teach a series of simple Jin Shin
Jyutsu® Self-Help exercises that you can perform on
yourself. Jin Shin Jyutsu® is an ancient form of light
touch Japanese body work that can help reduce stress,
induce relaxation and boost the immune system.

Chi Gong, or Bio-Energy Practice, can enhance our
health through movements to allow our muscles and
tendons to become more flexible, our breathing more
refined and our mind and spirit more centered.
Guided Relaxation

Mount Sinai Hospital
Learn and experience guided relaxation exercises that
can reduce stress and anxiety. Research studies show
that stress reduction and relaxation practices can help
to reduce pain, nausea, and fatigue. This workshop
will help you learn to relax and unwind.
