Julio Iglesias Jr. lanza primer sencillo de su nuevo álbum

‘La vuelta al mundo’
MÉXICO (AP) — Luego de un
año de celebraciones por cumplir
una década juntos, el grupo
mexicano Kabah presentó aquí “La
vuelta al mundo,” un álbum que
según se dijo comenzará a
promocionar pronto en numerosas
plazas de Latinoamérica, Estados
Unidos y España.
Fiel a su estilo, con letras
cotidianas y ritmos bailables, el
grupo comenzó a escucharse en
las radioemisoras locales con el
tema “Por tí,” uno de los once
cortes del sexto álbum de su
discografía y segundo para la firma
Warner.
El quinteto vocal de música
tecno-pop, que se consolidó en el
gusto juvenil en 1996 con su tema
“La calle de las sirenas”, se declaró
listo para iniciar su gira artística,
incluso en plazas donde no fue
posible acudir el año pasado.
La cantante Federica lamentó
que el grupo no pudiera atender
invitaciones en plazas de
Venezuela y Colombia durante los
festejos a una década de
trayectoria, por el clima social que
según dijo prevalece en esos
países sudamericanos.
“Ojalá y esta vez podamos
concretar nuestra visita. Sabemos
que en muchas partes hay crisis y
pero
nuestra
labor
es
precisamente llevarle un poco de
alegría a la gente”, expresó la
cantante.
Federica, que junto a su hermano
André, y los músicos María José,
René, Daniela y Sergio, forman el
grupo, lamentó la inminente
disolución del grupo OV7.
“De seguro les vamos a extrañar.
En realidad nunca les sentimos
como una competencia, nunca nos
hemos puesto encima de otros”,
señaló.
“Por supuesto que nosotros
algún día tendremos que tomar el
mismo camino y decir adiós, pero
mientras la gente nos siga
favoreciendo,
seguiremos
disfrutando lo que hacemos”, terció
Daniela.
“Nos preocupa el presente, el
futuro llega solo”, agregó María
José.
Otros temas del disco son:
“Florecitas”, “Tiempo”, “La vuelta al
mundo”, “Fue lo que será”, “Ser de
aire”, “Azul profundo”, “Día tras
día”, “De ti seré” y “Saltarás al mar.”

MIAMI – El primer sencillo de
Julio titulado “Los Demás” de su
nuevo
álbum
“Tercera
Dimensión,” comenzó a sonar en
todas las estaciones de radio del
país el lunes.
“Los
Demás,”
un
tema
compuesto por Elsten Torres y el
propio Julio, es una una canción
con gran sensibilidad que habla
de no tomar las cosas por
hechas y apreciar todo lo que
nos ofrece la vida.
“A veces uno piensa que está
atravesando el peor momento de
su vida y nadie la está pasando
peor, pero en realidad hay que
pensar que siempre hay alguien
en peor situación que uno,” nos
explica Julio Iglesias Jr., o sólo
Julio como ahora se le conoce.
El muy anticipado álbum de
música alternativa de Julio fue
producido por Julio, Pete Masitti
(Hootie & the Blowfish, Danny
Wood), y Luis Fernando Ochoa
(Shakira, Bacilos, Ricky Martin).
Cada uno de los 10 temas que lo
compone
despliega
los
armoniosos acordes de la guitarra
acompañados por la poderosa
voz de Julio.
El primer video “Los Demás” se
estrenara el día 12 de marzo.

50 Cent is on top of rap world

If you listen to 50 Cent’s album entitled “Get Rich
or Die Tryin,’” you might actually think that the
rapper will one day be on top of the world. As a
matter of fact, he is, for now at least. His album is
already double platinum since its release date of
Feb. 6. The bouncy-syrupy hook, “In Da Club,” has
made it to No. 1 on MTV’s TRL. And in less than two
weeks, it sold 1.7 million copies.
That’s the good part, the bad part is that trouble
keeps following him.
Early in his career, 50 Cent signed with JMJ, the
label of the Run DMC DJ, Jam Master Jay. Without
much to do, Jay had to release Cent from his label
since he couldn’t stretch the rapper’s career.
Then, in 1999, Cent was signed to Columbia
Records by a productive team called Trackmasters.
On Oct. 30, the legendary DJ Jam Master Jay
was gunned down in Queens, inside a recording
studio.
Since that night, 50 Cent (Curtis Jackson) had to
be under police protection. Rumors circulated that
the murder was a hit planned by 50 Cent. However,
police and investigators never released such
information.
Before the Jason Mizell AKA Jam Master Jay’s
shooting, 50 Cent had a close call with death.
It was May 2000 when rapper 50 Cent was shot in
the jaw and legs while sitting in a car outside his
grandmother’s house in Queens.
50 Cent was struck with the same luck as
Columbia Records had no choice than to drop the
rapper from the label after one year, since he
needed to recover from his poor physical condition
due to the altercations.
The resilient artist didn’t give up as he kept striving
to reach the next level of the so-called “rap game.”
Putting their street philosophies on wax and
distributing their product to hip-hop heads was,
maybe, not ideal to make top dollars for 50 Cent
and friends, but it was a way of infiltrating ear
canals.
So, if 50 Cent knew he had other major skills
besides rapping, why didn’t he go back to the dope
game?
Eminem.

Yes, that facetious rapper who goes around
name-calling people he disagrees with, Jimmy
Iovine of Interscope Records and Dr. Dre signed the
storming prospect to their Shady/Aftermath label for
a cool 1.6 million
Perhaps rap mogul Dr. Dre and rap sensation
Eminem never thought about losing the spotlight to
their own profitable project, 50 Cent.
The 26-year-old from Queens, has emerged as
the next rap titan.
On Monday, 50 Cent highlighted the Street Baller
Tour 2003 concert at the Yellowrose Ballroom in
Corpus Christi.
Also on the bill was Master P’s 504 Boyz, Choppa,
5th Ward Weebie and Houston rap artist Tow Down.
50 Cent is scheduled to make an appearance in
South Padre Island for Spring Break.
His concert will be at the Schlitterbahn Beach
Waterpark on Tuesday, March 11.
