________________________________________________________________________________ Dear Bancroft Parents,
This evening the Sharpe Playground was vandalized and set on fire.
Thankfully, no one was harmed and MPD/DC Fire were able to put out
the fire and secure the premises accordingly. We are working with DGS
and the project managers from Blue Skye to navigate next steps around
playground repairs. Starting tomorrow however, the Sharpe playground
will be closed off until further notice. We’re a bit lucky in that we were
able to develop an effective alternative shared play space schedule while
the playground was being renovated over the past two weeks, so we’ll be
returning to that schedule until the playground has been repaired again.
We’ll be sure to follow up with you all just as soon as we receive
definitive details in terms of the timeline for playground
repair/reopening.

________________________________________________________________________________ Estimados padres de Bancroft. Anoche, parte del patio de recreo “Sharpe” fue dañado e incendiado. Afortunadamente, nadie salió perjudicado y los bomberos MPD / DC pudieron apagar el fuego y asegurarse que el establecimiento estuviera en buenas condiciones. Estamos trabajando con DGS y los directores del proyecto Blue Skye para averiguar los siguientes pasos para las nuevas reparaciones, sin embargo a partir de mañana el patio de recreo estará cerrado hasta nuevo aviso. Tenemos suerte que hemos sido capaces de desarrollar un horario alternativo para compartir el otro espacio de juego efectivamente, mientras que el patio de recreo estaba siendo renovado, durante las últimas dos semanas, por lo que volveremos a ese horario hasta que el patio de recreo sea reparado nuevamente.
