If you’re coming to Perú, you should bring your passport, luggage, foreign currency,
and visit Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake!!
You should explore the Uros floating islands that are hand-woven from totora, it's
extraordinary!
To get there, you could fly to Juliaca´s International Airport, then take local transport
to Puno city, and from there you must take a boat to the Uros.
You must be careful with the cold weather due to the high altitude of the Altiplano
region, so pack heavy clothing and a first aid kit if you need it.
On the lake you should ride handmade rafts, they are beautiful and perfect for
photos, and learn peculiar facts about the local traditions like the meanings of their
clothing, artwork and the Aymara language.
Don´t miss trying the local cuisine. The main dish is trout, served either boiled or
fried, with potatoes, corn, and salsa criolla. It's delicious. And if you are worried
about altitude sickness forget it! ! You should drink coca tea, it solves it!
