What you’ll do:

As the Project Manager/Scrum Master, you will own and track the scrum process an
d artifacts on a variety of software development and integration projects. You w

The Role
If you love a greenfield opportunity of being our first ever Scrum Master then t

A fantastic opportunity has arisen in the Digital IT – Web & Mobile team based in
the Digital Garage in Downtown Toronto. We require experienced ScrumMaster to w
ork in a multidisciplinary agile team to help develop world class digital delive
ry capability within Web and Mobile.
The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating the day to day running of an Ag
ile team and ensuring that progress is visible to all key stakeholders. They ens
ure that the team functions as effectively as possible and protects the team fro
m external impacts. This is a facilitative leadership role, and the role holder
should seek to promote self-organisation within the team, and work collaborative
ly with team members to optimise its output and achieve the defined Sprint and d
elivery goals rather than acting as an authority and coordinator.
Accountabilities
Ensuring that the team follow the values and principles of Agile as far as possi
ble and apply the Aviva Agile framework appropriately.
Ensuring transparency on team activities including sprints, velocity, risks, tea
m and stakeholder happiness.
Ensuring quality is driven into all aspects of the delivery lifecycle and defect
s are driven out as early as possible.
Management and control of resources and suppliers ensuring that supply and capab
ility meets agreed commitments including engagement or engineering initiatives.
Ensuring application roadmaps are in place and govern against them
Ensuring risks are managed as they arise, escalating to Project Manager or techn
ical roles as required
Facilitation of workshops with business stakeholders and development teams
Management and development of people within a delivery team

Lead the organization’s adoption of agile/scrum practices
