LORENZO DE ZAVALA COMMUNICATES THE FOLLOWING:

3 Important Notes: Bring your child to school every day and on time, have your
child read every day, and help your child do homework every day.
Volunteers: Please sign up to be a volunteer. Once you have been approved a
volunteer orientation will need to be completed.
Flu Season: Flu season is here please check with your child’s health provider to see
if a flu shot is an option for your child.
Saturday School: In preparation for the STAAR test Saturday school will be held on,
3/28, 4/11, and 4/18. This will be by invitation only. Your child will receive a letter
informing you if he or she will participate in these tutoring sessions from 8:3011:30.
STAAR Testing: Our students will be taking their STAAR testing on the following
dates, March 30-31, 2015 and on April 20-22. This will be for students in 3rd, 4th, and
5th grade. Please do not schedule any appointments during these dates as it is very
important to have your child present and ready to take these tests. Due to STAAR
testing we will not have any visitors and we ask that you do not have lunch with
your student starting Monday, March 30, 2015 thru Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
Weather Inclement Make-up Day: School will be in session on Friday, April 3, 2015.
Pre-K Roundup: Our Pre-K round up will be on April 10, 2015 from 9:00a.m.3:00p.m. Please make sure you have all of the following documents: Child’s birth
certificate, proof of residency (utility bill or lease), Parent’s Picture ID, Military
identification card, Child’s social security card (optional), Court papers indicating
conservatorship or foster child placement (if applicable), Child’s current
immunization record, Proof of income (AFDC card, W-2 Forms, check stubs, bank
statements for all working members of the household).
Library News: Parents please make sure to turn in any overdue library books.
LDZ Health Fair: Our health fair will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2015 which
will include a Fun Run. More details to come.
Reading Day: Our school will be participating in Reading Day on May 28, 2015. We
will have different volunteers visit our classrooms and read to our students.
Feedback and Improvement: Have a comment, concern, or suggestion? Please
send all information to your classroom teacher or Mrs. Garcia so we can take care of
your needs.

BOLETÍN DE ÁGUILA DE MARZO
LORENZO DE ZAVALA COMUNICA LO SIGUIENTE:

3 Notas Importantes: Estar en la escuela a tiempo todos los días, leer con sus hijos
todos los días, y ayudar a sus hijos con sus tareas todos los días.
Voluntarios: Inscríbase para ser voluntario, una vez que sea aprobado tendrá que
tomar una clase de orientación. La próxima orientación será el Jueves, 19 de Marzo
de 2015 a las 9:30 a.m.
Escuela Sabatina: En preparación para el examen de STAAR empezaremos con
nuestras sesiones de escuela sabatina. Los estudiantes recibirán una carta
informándoles si su hijo o hija necesita asistir. Las fechas son las siguientes: 3/28,
4/11 y 4/28 de 8:30-11:30.
Exámenes de STAAR: Los estudiantes estarán tomando sus exámenes de STAAR en
las siguientes fechas Marzo 30 -31 de 2015 y Abril 20-22 del 2015 para los
estudiantes 3º , 4º y 5˚ grado tomaran los exámenes de escritura, lectura, y
matemáticas. Por favor no programe citas de doctor u otros eventos en estas fechas
ya que es de suma importancia que sus hijos asistan y tomen estos exámenes.
Debido a los exámenes de STAAR no tendremos visitantes en la escuela y les pedimos
su apoyo en no venir y comer con su estudiante durante el Lunes, 30 de Marzo hasta
el Miércoles, 1 de Abril.
Día de compensar por Tiempo Inclemente:
Inscripción de Pre-Kínder: Este evento se llevara a cabo el 10 de Abril de 2015
empezara a las 9:00 a.m. y terminara a las 3:00 p.m. Por favor asegúrese de tener
todos sus documentos: Certificado de nacimiento, tarjeta de seguro social,
expediente de vacunas, comprobante de ingresos, comprobante de residencia, y
forma de identificación de los padres.
Noticias de la Biblioteca: Por favor asegure que su estudiante entregue los libros
que estén pendiente a la biblioteca.
Feria de Salud: Aguarde la fecha. Nuestra feria de salud se llevara a cabo el Sábado,
25 de Abril este evento incluye una carrera. Más detalles por venir.
Día de Lectura: Nuestra escuela estará participando en el Día de Lectura.
Tendremos a varios voluntarios que vendrán a leer un libro en cada clase.
Sugerencias y Mejoramientos: Tiene alguna pregunta, comentario, o
preocupación? Por favor mande la información a su maestra o a la señora García
para poder resolver todas sus necesidades.
